Can you tell me what the "Orphan's" secret it?

Creepy!

And did you notice the parents names are "John and Kate"?

There is a Lois Duncan book with a similar plot... I think it was called, "The Summer of Fear".

I remember reading that book when I was a teen!! I don't remember a thing about it other then the title.... I wonder if I still have it.....

Ya know, I LOVE that movie spoiler site. I can't tell you how many movies I've been mildly interested in knowing the plot but not interested enough to spend the $$ to actually go to the theater. A few minutes w/ themoviespoiler.com & I've saved myself 10 bucks and 2 hours. :thumbsup2

I am the same way. I like to know what I am getting into before I go and see a movie. My kids hate me because I hate surprises.

Many times I wait until something comes out on cable or DVD because I don't like the ending after reading the spoilers. I have never regretted it.

I doubt I will see it even on cable, I have seen the L&O episode mentioned, I love the "ripped from the headlines" episodes!

Maybe Disney can buy the rights and make a nice family attraction out of it.;)

I'm so glad someone asked this, because it's a movie that I would NEVER watch but since they're ramming it down our throats that "there's something wrong with Esther" I really wanted to know what it was!!!

It's not my kind of movie... but I think it's a great plot (and would be really disappointed if I knew it ahead of time... if I actually wanted to see the movie.)

Thanks to the OP for asking and thanks to whoever posted the link!

I am another one who would never see that movie, but wanted to know the 'secret' as well! Thanks for that site, it is cool!

I have to admit, I would have never guessed that was the secret from the movie previews!

Never want to see the movie, but I wouldn't mind seeing the Law & Order episode. I will have to watch for it!

Same here...I hate surprises and my kids never want to know anything! I was the kid that searched the closet for Christmas presents because I just had to know!! :rolleyes1

I hate spoilers. We went and saw the movie Friday and enjoyed it (except for the really thoughtful people who brought their small child, thanks for that!). We love scary movies and I thought this one was good, it made me laugh sometimes but in a good way--like the film would acknowledge that what was happening was beyond bizzaro.

Thanks for posting the spoiler site. It's pretty cool!

BTW, the poster for Orphan is creepy as heck!

I had not planned to see this movie. I hate scary stuff. I didn't read/watch any reviews or read any threads about it.

Somehow we ended up watching it last night. To my surprise, I loved it. It wasn't scary at all. A few scenes were a bit much (killing the nun and breaking her own arm) but other than that it was fine.

I had a feeling that she was an adult early on. I was sure when she refused to go to the dentist.

First of all, love your pug! So cute!

The episode of L&O:SVU is called "Clock" : Stabler and Tutuola team up to investigate when a teenage boy and girl go missing on a field trip to a museum. The case takes a different turn however, when they realize the girl has Turner's syndrome so she looks twelve even though she's seventeen. When the missing boy is found the team wonders if they were even missing in the first place. Connie Nielsen is introduced at the end of this episode as Stabler's new partner, Det. Dani Beck.

I'm a little off on the ages I gave in my previous post.

:scared1: I would never go to see this movie because I dont do scary ! But I couldnt stop myself from opening this thread . I thought it was just a creepy little girl

I don't do scary movies either, but I was interested in the story line. I was shaking just reading it! Yikes....I would have died watching that in the theater!

We saw the midnight showing on Friday after work. I am so grateful they FINALLY made a horror flick that isn't ruined by cheap CGI tricks. Just good, old-fashioned suspense. We were all very entertained, and even though I knew in advance of the twisted ending thanks to the a$$#%^& exiting the theater after the prior showing (I really hate people like that), it was still a lot of fun and had a few good jumps out of your seat moments.

Thanks!!! :goodvibes We think she is pretty cute too (and she knows that!!) :)

And thank you for the information about the Law & Order episode. I will keep an eye out for it! We are always watching the reruns.

 I never would've guessed that was Esther's "secret". And I love how the parents are Jon & Kate. :lmao:

The movie was suspenseful, not scary.

This is fun. Now it's my turn. Did anyone notice that the names of the parents in the film are Jon & Kate? :scared1:

I didn't notice. As a matter of fact when it was first posted here, I was wondering who the heck are Jon and Kate?:
