My 17yr old son is at the University of MD at a camp. My husband drove him there and was going to drive RT Friday to pick him up (about 10/11 hours).

I was thinking about booking him a flight from BWI on Southwest with some TTF that I have. He has flown with us before but never by himself. I have never flown into BWI so I have no idea how big or overwhelming the airport might be.

Is it more like JFK, O'Hare, MCO or if anyone is familiar with Long Island Islip MacArthur? Any thoughts would be appreciated so I can decide what to do.

TIA.

BWI is my home airport. I think it's a pretty easy airport, as these things go. The airport is set up in a horseshoe formation, with Southwest being the first one you as you enter. Southwest has a huge terminal there, but not overwhelming. I would go to the website and check out the terminal map. I really do think it's a fairly simple airport to get around.

If he has any flying experiance BWI is a about as easy as they come.

Thanks for the quick replies. I would have a car pick him up at U of MD and drop off at SWA terminal so I think he would be ok.

Now, to see if he remembered to take his driving permit to use as photo id. He may not have it with him so that could be a deal breaker.

Thanks again.

I thought you only needed one if you were over 18?
