Can you take a 2 month old on any rides?

Rides, yes, and the single best resource for infants is the Baby Care Center. It's at the end of Main Street by the Corn Dog Cart. They have very cushy, padded changing tables, private nursing rooms with rocking chairs, high chairs, a microwave to heat up formula, baby necessities for sale, etc. When DS needs a change, we always head there.

Oh that's very handy info to know! How do you store your formula while you are in the parks? With the heat it seems like it would go bad pretty quick. I guess under the stroller and maybe in one of those cooler lunch bags it would be ok?

Whenever I needed to carry around formula (not very often since she was breastfed) I would carry one small bottle with the powdered formula and either another bottle with water or a water bottle. Didn't mix until I needed to. Or they have those on the go packs in a little tube. Same idea. I wouldn't bring premixed formula for that reason.

To supplement, I would bring the little glass bottles of premixed formula. I don't know if Enfamil still makes those though. They used to come in 6 pack I think. But they'll keep in the stroller until you pop the cap. You just add a nipple and the bottle is disposable when you're done.

Also I brought a cordless portable bottle warmer.

Good idea! Thanks. :goodvibes

I'd suggest something like *these* to protect your little one's ears.

Baby Bjorns really aren't ideal for babies - the position is all wrong - other carriers/slings are much better for you and your child... :hippie:

From what I've read, the parks don't let you bring in glass bottles. I don't know if that applies to formula, but I did buy the same type of thing last year when we were visiting family. They weren't glass, but that's a good idea, too. They were out on the shelf so no need to refrigerate until they're opened. :thumbsup2

I wouldn't bring ready-to-drink formula, even in a plastic bottle. One because they're very expensive and I'm cheap, but also because it can get overheated just being in the stroller or diaper bag. What I used to do was just take the actual bottle we used for feeding, put the powder in there, then when it was time to eat mix it with water and feed right then and there. If you forget, though, the Baby Care Center does sell formula. If you need to warm it, the BCC does have a bottle warmer or you can microwave if you choose. They also have a fridge and freezer if you want to bring in expressed breast milk and store it for the day.

And yes, the Bjorn is not ideal for babies or for moms and dads. For babies because hanging by the crotch is not good for the spine, and for parents because they don't distribute the weight evenly. There are a number of other carriers that are more comfortable for both baby and mom and dad and put baby in a better position. One is the Ergo carrier. I'm happy to suggest others, and it sounds like DisneyMomma81 probably could too ;).

I like the idea of just having the powder in the bottles and adding water when ready to eat. Sounds easiest and safest to me.

The carrier I have is called Snugli. I haven't used it yet, but it doesn't look too bad. It's got a good head supporter and the straps look like they would carry the weight well.

We will have the stroller too, so if need be we could just sit him on our laps during the ride, but I think one of those carriers seems a lot safer to me. :confused3

My 4 month old went on tons of rides with us. He didn't mind any of the ones that he was tall enough for. He loved Mickey's Fun Wheel with a swinging car. He kept giggling every time we went for a big swing. Yes I took my 4 month old on Mickey's Wheel of Death. What can I say, that one is our family favorite!

Though I had one with my daughter, a Snugli is considered a crotch dangler. A Moby wrap would be a good alternative. I only used the Snugli to wear her through security in the airport on a few trips we took. She was way too hard to carry in that thing otherwise.

Yes, the Snugli is a crotch dangler (not great for the kiddo). I liked our Moby wrap but found it too hot for Disneyland. I do recommend the Ergo (or similar--a Beco Butterfly is another good one, thought quite expensive), or a soft carrier like a Mei Tai-style (BabyHawk is one).

I agree! I have a Beco Butterfly and that worked wonderfully for our trip. My son spent a ton of time in there. I like the Moby too, but it requires wrapping to get on and off which can be difficult, especially if you want to move the baby back and forth to ride swap.

That is good to keep in mind, never thought much about the sounds. I did think that the sounds in Pirates might be much. Particularity the part with the cannons on the ship.

I took my 7-month-old cousin on the Jungle Cruise for the first time a couple of weeks ago and the noises on that (particularly the blanks being fired) didn't seem to phase her at all (even though she had been fussy earlier while waiting in line). I think it truly depends on the temperament of your baby.

Their staff is awesome, by the way, and very good at maintaining the calm atmosphere. I waited n the little lobby area while my aunt nursed my cousin a couple of weeks ago and the lady at the front desk was a fine example of what a CM should be when dealing with mothers and fathers rushing in to take care of various emergencies.

so just to throw my 2 cents in... We took our baby when he was two months and when he was four months old. These were my favorite two trips so far...

I got TON of one on one time with the baby while my husband was off riding with the older kids, lots of people watching and really sitting back enjoying all the little details of the holiday decorations. I had a REALLY GOOD excuse to take it easy and not rush around. :)

PoTC is my kiddos favorite ride so we usually ride it a couple times a day (for three/four days). He was exclusively breastfeeding at the time and it got to the point that as soon as we walked in the ride que he would start rooting around wanting to nurse! He was so relaxed that by the end of the ride he would still be "on" and I would have to remove him from my breast. lol. Usually to the tune of "oohs and ahhs" of the people sitting behind us that didn't even know there was a baby on the ride :)

He also rode the train around the park, the monorail, IASM, and winnie the pooh, haunted mansion, jungle cruise, buzz lightyear, mr toads, (& at CA)monster's inc, mickey's fun wheel. All while either in my lap or in my ergo baby carrier. (http://www.ergobabycarriers.com/babycarriers/item/BC2EP/)

While the rest of the family was running around riding all the rides, I took it easy, shopped, ate, took a million pictures, hunted for hidden mickeys, people watched...

Like I said, our trip in Nov 2010 was my favorite so far. :santa:

oh and I LOVED having a completely legitimate reason NOT to ride the tea cups :) ha ha

I definitely consider "If you make me ride this ride, I WILL throw up on you" to be a perfectly legitimate reason not to ride the tea cups. :rotfl:

I've taken my then 6 week old (10 years ago) on plenty of rides at Disneyland. I had him in a baby sling and just got right on every ride in Fantasyland among others.
