Or do we have to actually go there to watch? What time will it start the first week in Dec?
Thanks....Just trying to figure out what to do that first night.

They never show a view of the side of the building facing EPCOT so I'm wondering do I need to have a room facing EPCOT or are there public balconies on high floors that face EPCOT...

Don't get me wrong a room would be great but if I don't have one then the next best thing would be a public space.

Yes I actually meant any public viewing areas.
Are there studios at BCV with a view of Illuminations? That would be perfect since I'll be with my 2 small children and 70yr old Mom..:)
Thanks..

Aside from a "room with a view", I do believe being there is the best view. Maybe the walk-over bridge that gets you to ESPN?

We were walking "home" during illum. one evening and could see them along the water, on the sidewalk area heading towards BC, but there are many trees there.

we had a studio 561 with a view of the fireworks and the music from Epcot - it was a road view otherwise - but hey you are at Disney! Oh this was a dedicated studio - had some trouble with a very noisey air-conditioning but maintence fit it as soon as I reported it.

Illuminations will begin at 9:30 p.m. during the first week of December. The time moves from 9:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on the first day that the Candlelight Processional is performed (which is 11/29 this year). That's done so that Illuminations doesn't interfere with the CP's last performance of the day.

The best places to watch Illuminations are inside EPCOT around the World Showcase lagoon. Outside the park, the only thing you will be able to see is the higher level fireworks and lasers. Some posters have reported that they could see the Illuminations fireworks from the balcony of their BCV room. You can see the fireworks portion from just about anyplace around Crescent Lake.

We were there over Labor Day weekend, in room 325. It was a rear facing woods view... we were on the third floor & we had an AWESOME view of illuminations... IT WAS AWESOME!!! So, ask for a woods view room with a view of illuminations, third floor or above!

We just got back late last night from our first stay at Beach Club Villas and were in a studio, room #527. It was facing a wooded area and Epcot. We had a good view of the fireworks and could hear the music (not loudly), it was wonderful being able to sit out on the balcony and watch it. Having said that, I still think the best way to see Illuminations is to be in Epcot. From our room although the fireworks were great, the laser show and the buildings lighting up were not visible.

you can walk out onto the "lighthouse" peir at the yatch and beach club and get a good view of the HIGH fireworks....

we did that when we were there in early september

Dedicated studio 555 also has an illuminations fireworks view. I didn't see any public spaces on the 5th floor.

BTW, the 4 drawers in the studios are teeny :)

We left BCV yesterday. We were in Room 549, next to the last room on the floor, woods view facing Tower of Terror. If I leaned out over the railing I could see France and Illuminations smoke, but no fireworks. Sure could hear it though.

Just got back from BCV and had room 551(dedicated 2 BR)
We had 3 porches and the porch from the MBR overlooked the road, BUT it had an awesome view of Illuminations.
