Today at lunch time I noticed a missed call from an unknown number. The person left a message. I listened to the message asking me to call back. It was a cast member from Disney.. When I returned the call, she goes through a series of questions asking if me about my upcoming trip this weekend. WHY did she inform me that I was being UPGRADED to the G R A N D F L O R I D I A N!!! I nearly fell out my chair. I had been smiling all day. I pray that it isn't a horrible prank. I will let you know.

I remember getting an email confirmation when I was upgraded on my DCL cruise when a rep called me. Did the Disney rep send you a new confirmation or maybe you'll see an update on your MDE. Just to be safe that it's not a scam like a PP suggested.

I have been checking my email and my MDE. For some reason all of my confirmations come a day later.

This is my secret dream for our upcoming trip. Don't get me wrong, I'm stoked about where we're staying (also CSR - Business Class), but the idea of getting a surprise upgrade to a deluxe, especially the GF, is truly magical. So happy for you, OP! Enjoy!

That sort of happened to me last year...We had originally booked the Contemporary theme park view, but when the new spring deals came out I called Disney to try and get that deal applied to my stay. They told me that the contemporary had no rooms available for that deal, but they could get me into the Deluxe room at the Grand Floridian and it was like $500 cheaper than the Contemporary. I think I literally passed out, LOL. The Grand Floridian is an AMAZING resort! When we go back to Disney in 2017 we are stay at the Poly...trying to stay at all the deluxe resorts at least once, lol

Not quite the same but we were offered the GF once when they oversold the Contemporary garden wing. As it was during the GF refurb, I asked for the Poly instead, and it was granted!! A partial lagoon view in Tokelau....was so exciting!! Can't imagine we will ever be able to stay there again.....

Congratulations We were upgraded to GF-LV from WL back in December because of the construction. I know at CSR if a new convention is booked or a big one needs more rooms they will move guests to different resorts.

Thanks everyone…. Just to be safe, I called CSR this morning and spoke to a manager. I called Magical Express about 25 minutes ago to find out what I need to do with me luggage and such. The CM at Magical Express was so helpful. He walked me through the entire process for my arrival. For some reason CSR did not volunteer needed info.

GF here I come!!!!
