can you ride dme one way?

Have some friends going on our points and they will have a car for the weekend. Planning to visit some relatives on Friday and Saturday. They will be checking in on Sunday and will still have a car, but want to return it on Sunday. Is it possible to get them a reservation on Dme just for the return trip to the airport at the end of the week?

According to the CM I made DME ressies with the answer is yes- It is also on the DVC site where you can sign up for DME- you can make reservations for one way or round trip.

Yes but you still have to book them the 2 way. Then when they arrive or sometime during their stay they should call and let ME know they are just doing the return trip.

Also when their package come make sure you tell them not to use the yellow Me tags as they are not boarding a bus the bags will not be delivered.

We have booked one ways twice. We take ME to WDW and a limo to the cruise ship. No problems.

no need to book the return drive if you don't need it. We have booked only one way (arriving) each time we have used it. We usually have a rental car for the last half of the stay and so drive ourselves to MCO for the return flight home. I like the fact of staying on site a little longer the last day.

I agree no need to book the return .

However OP is not doing the Arriving DME trip so they will not be checking in at the counter .

They only want to use the RETURN so they will have to call as they won't be checked-in with ME at MCO.

It's still no problem they just need to call thats all.

I only have DME booked for the return trip (we are renting a car for the first day only). No one advised that I need to call anywhere. My tags just came in two days ago. My booklet only lists my departing flight info and I have yellow tags for departure only. It states that the day prior to our departure we will receive notice of our pick-up time. I can even check-in to my airline (JetBlue) from the resort.

Are you guys certain about one way booking?

I had a friend of my DW's cousins, who knows the mother of a former cast member, who used to date a Disney Security Guard, tell her that the DME Police will find any MIA guests, and physically throw them onto the DME Bus, for mandatory return to their home state!

I have done the one way thing twice. We rented a car for the first few days and then returned it on site and took ME home. Had some issues once, becuase I never got my tickets but it was fixed when I called from the resort.

I also have booked DME one way for the return trip only and had no problems at all.

We were at the BWV in Jan, I flew to SC and drove down with my parents who were then staying in Fla for a while so I flew back from MCO.

Yes you can.... doing it in August! Also did this when I had a split trip with week 2 in VB. First week no car rental... had ME drop us back off at airport rented from Dollar at airport and away you go!

We have done DME one way twice now.

Once when we were comng off of the cruise line, we wanted a car to get us from the port to WL, then DME back to the airport.

No problems what so ever.

The second time was last May, we wanted a car to do some shopping before we went to OKW - and we used DME from OKW to the airport.

Again no problems.

We did not use a participating airline and we booked one way. Just ask the CM when you call, how it would best be handled for your situation.
