Hi all,

I thought I read on another thread that you can request turn-down service if you are staying at a deluxe property and I wanted to see if that was true? I wonder if it applies if you are staying at a 1 bedroom villa (and are not DVC members so we get daily housekeeping).

I think we only had turn down service when we stayed at a regular room at Grand Floridian way back in 2007.

I honestly don't remember what they did, so exactly what do they do for turn-down service?

Thanks for indulging a curious mind, Marina :flower:

All deluxes....yes. DVC...nope. Unless the rules have changed. We stayed (paying cash) at BLT, I called and was told no.

Only DVC villa that gets turn down service is the sixth floor villas at Jambo House - AKV - because they are concierge level villas.

Does anyone know what they do for turndown. I honestly can't remember from 10 years ago. I'd like to know what I'm missing out on :P

They close the drapes, turn down the beds for the evening, put a chocolate on the pillow, turn down the lights, replace any soiled/wet towels and used amenities and maybe turn on the television to music.

Imagine if they just did this service for the Deluxe or Deluxe CL, without having to request it....

I'm okay with it ...but I stand by my opinion that Disney Deluxe and
Deluxe Hotels in the outside realm are quite different in terms of "service". What is often similar however ... price point, just say'n.

And trash I think.

1) How much more would you be willing to pay? CL gets it anyway, but despite no break down in pricing, they're paying for the service.

2) Okay, its your opinion, but its actually a fact.

Perhaps, but the fact remains that within WDW these are the costs and these are the amenities that are associated with the costs. I'm okay with it, and pay when I choose to, stay are less expensive resorts when I choose not to. And I request turn down when I stay deluxe. I do not mind that I have to ask for a service that I am paying for and enjoy, but that others would find a wasted of their time.

Very much so. A stay at the Hard Rock is enough to show you the difference.

No. I leave a tip, but that is my choice.

I would *totally* tip for this! Do you leave the tip in advance? Do you request it at check in?

Is turn down necessary? Of course not! But what a nice treat, especially for my upcoming trip when it's just DH and I.

@adisneyaunt & @rwdavis2 - I agree with you. It should be a given when you are staying deluxe - unless you request NOT to have it. Disney is supposed to be known for its exceptional customer service and this is one thing that could add some "magic" to your stay (even though it is standard at many deluxe resorts/hotels).

We are staying at a Westin on Jekyll Island at the end of this month and paying more than you pay at the Disney deluxe resorts (getting a ocean view) and there is no turn down service. This isn't even what I'd consider a high end hotel, to me that's more Four Seasons, and yet we are paying more per night then I've ever paid at YC or BW.

They do turn on the television, usually just to the main WDW channel that has the park hours on it (no idea what it is called), and it always seems insanely loud when we come into the room.

So turn-down service is included for all club level guests and by request for guests at deluxe resorts (non-club level), and cannot be requested by cash guests staying in villas. Am I understanding this correctly? Is it still included for non-club level (outer building) guests at GF?

We did get turn down service at the GF when we stayed in Big Pine Key in a lagoon view room in Jan 2016. We did not get it when we stayed in a one bedroom villa at GFV in May.

GF is the only Deluxe resort that Turndown is included for all rooms (not just CL) with the exception of DVC.
We had it with RPC, but also in Big Pine and Boca Chica.
We always come back to resort for mid day pool break and before we leave for dinner we leave a tip on the bed for evening turndown.
