I'm pretty sure it's requested by calling housekeeping. I've never done it before (requested it. It was included years ago when I stayed at the GF), but I'm going to try it out on our upcoming trip to BWI!
@adisneyaunt & @rwdavis2 - I agree with you. It should be a given when you are staying deluxe - unless you request NOT to have it. Disney is supposed to be known for its exceptional customer service and this is one thing that could add some "magic" to your stay (even though it is standard at many deluxe resorts/hotels).
Don't feel silly, it's not an outrageous request. You can always just call housekeeping extension from your room phone as you head out to dinner. Just tell them you are leaving the room for dinner and would like the room turned down.
I've stayed deluxe a lot at Disney and they only time I got turndown without asking was when I requested a studio villa at Boardwalk Villas and they gave me one of the 2-story garden suites at the Inn instead. I've heard many times before that you definitely don't get this service at any of the Villas.
