Can you purchase MYW at the Dolphin? If so, would the ticket be on our room card? I understand they now have refillable mugs there and you can get it filled at Tubbies (is it?). How much is the mug?

I booked the Dolphin through DU. Is it like booking it through CRO? If I ever want to cancel it, do I need to go through DU or call the Dolphin?

I understand that there is a parking fee and also a nightly fee for other ammenities. Is it hard for them to waive the $10 (per night) since I will not be using their spa or their workout room nor want to read the morning newspaper?

Thanks in advance. I may have more questions to ask later. Thanks for any help you can give me.

Telly

A few responses..
In the lobby there is a Disney Guest Services desk and you can get tickets there.

It is basically impossible to get the resort fee waived. Over the past year many have tried and I can't really recall reading any success stories.

Mug is in the $10 range.

Also, to cancel, I believe you would need to contact DU. We loved the Dolphin, but it is really big!

Your tickets will not be on your room key. Your room key from the Dolphin will also not have WDW charging privileges, but you can use it to charge at the Swan/Dolphin shops and restaurants.

Yes, you will need to go through DU for your special requests or to cancel your reservation.

Your park tickets will not be on your room key. You can have charging privileges on your card, however, only in restaurants or shops within the Dolphin and Swan.
The $10 resort fee includes internet access, coffee machine and the daily newspaper. The only thing you could say is that you want neither of these and see what they say but it will be tough. I myself don't mind the fee since I do use all the amenities. But it's worth a try...all they can do is say no but at least you tried.

Thanks everyone for your help. I am there on vacation. Really.. Who has time to sit and actually go on the internet? I can do that at home. The same with newspapers, I don't have time to read, besides I get my news from tv. I hate those inks to get on my fingers, seriously. At RPR, every morning you get newspaper, I just throw it in the garbage. I should just tell them, don't waste your time and money on newspaper cause I don't read them. As far as coffee, not so much into it. I don't even touch the the coffee maker at the resorts. How about the workout room, is that also included in the fee? Not that I am going to use it. I get my work out at the park! With all the walking!

Anyways... All I can do is asked to waive the fee. And what about the parking fee, how much is it? I usually rent a car. Thanks in advance.

Hi Fantasia! I've stayed at the Dolphin 3x and love it! The location is great, especially if you're an Epcot fan like me! You'd do better to buy your tickets before you go from one of the discount brokers online. I think it's nearly impossible to get out of paying the resort fee, and yes, the health club is included, though like you, I've never thought I needed any more of a workout than I got at the parks! You'll love the grotto pool, it's beautiful! I think I read on these boards that the parking fees start next month and it's supposed to be $7 a day. We normally rent a car if we're not driving down, but if we stayed there very long, I'd rethink that if the fees started adding up... I'd be staying there in Oct. too, except they aren't offering any discounts for my dates.

Thanks so much for the info laurabelle. Sounds like you really really like this resort and you like Epcot a lot! Sounds like a great place to stay.

Guess how much I had to pay at RPR in Universal? $9.00 per day to park the car! And we stayed there for 5 nights! And the bad part is finding a parking lot. I mean you have to drive and drive and drive around to find a spot. With all that driving, I could already have drove to Disney! But nah! When I do Disney, we stay on Disney and when we do Universal we stay on Universal property.

Fantasia, I was thinking about it, and the two times I had a car at the Dolphin I never drove! With all the restaurants nearby and the boat service to Epcot and MGM, we really didn't need it. It's too bad you can't do the Magic Express transportation at the Dolphin...

Just give it a try to get the resort fee waived and see what they say.
I know the fee is now $7.00 a day to park.
I have no idea if the resort fee includes the gym because I don't work out. I usually stay in the Swan and have a beautiful Epcot view. I just love it there!!!

The resort services fee includes:

Up to 60 minutes free local telephone calls, toll free and credit card access calls

In room coffee

Unlimited access to the resort's health club facilities

In room high speed internet access

Newspaper

We rely totally on the WDW transportation system. We usually park our rental and never get in it again until we are heading back to the airport to go home!

I like renting a car cause I want to be able to resort hop. I love checking out other resorts and sometimes eating there. When we go to DD, we usually take the car. I love to be able to come and go as we please.

SHhhhh... and part of the reason is that I always get lost in DD, trying to figure out how to get back to the bus stop and which area to stand. I got lost twice and it was already dark outside and it was just me and my children and I just got scared cause I didn't know how am I ever gonna get back to our resort. So we did find the place, but we got on the wrong bus. Please...mind you that it was our very first and second time being on the property and using the bus.

I know you guys are probably saying "how stupid can she be...how can she get lost and got on the wrong bus!" I know, maybe I just got intimidated not knowing where I am and got scared cause it was already dark which made it more harder to figure out where the bus stop and I just didn't remember where we got dropped off.

Ever since then, I just drive myself there and no problem where I parked my car. :) I can't do without a car.

I don't think that's stupid at all! I just took my kids by myself to WDW last month, since hubby was bogged down at work. It's a very different thing when you are the only one responsible for their care and safety. You need to do what makes you feel most comfortable.
I'm so sorry about your husband...
