Can you please prove my dh wrong?!

If you are renting a car while your down there, the local shopping is near by and easy to find. Pricing at Gooding is very expensive, but Publix and WinDixie are the same as you'll find at home. You can get everything you need right there. The money you spend on shipping would pay half your car rental.

We did it in 2004. DS has food allergies and DH was on Atkins, so we had some specialty food items I wasn't sure we would find easily, so I shipped a box of snacks, etc ahead. It cost about $20 to ship UPS ground (heavy box), but it was so worth it! We used up almost everything in the box, so I didn't have to worry about shipping anything home.

We attended a wedding at the beginning of our DL trip this summer, so I intended to ship home our formal clothes so that we wouldn't end up lugging them across the Southwest for 10 days.... well, DH didn't see the "need" for that, so we didn't ship them, but the trunk of the rental car was JAMMED for the entire trip and the kids and DH ended up having to keep stuff around their feet in the car (I was the sole driver). I wish he hadn't been so stubborn... it could have been a much more comfortable drive!...............P

We are only renting a car for 1 day to go to the beach, not to get to and from the resort, we will rely on Disney for all that :flower: so I am not really considering that. I had originally thought about just taking the bus or walking to a grocery store, ( kids would get a kick out of going to WinDixie b/c of the movie :goodvibes ) but I think I've decided to ship. I am going to check out the prices before we leave though-just in case!

Getting really excited :teeth: :teeth: :teeth: 19 days to go :cool1:

I've never shipped anything to Disney, but I did ship things for my wedding to our hotel in Vegas and shipped my gown home after the ceremony. It was so much easier not to have to lug that huge thing back home on the plane and freed up much room in the suitcases to get all the wedding attire and accessories out of the way. I will probably not ship anything to the resort, but I will definitely ship the souvies, etc, home.

I must be missing something! How long are your stays at Disney? We go for a week(7 nights) and only take one bag each. That includes diapers, food, raingear, and we go in Jan. Never been a problem and never worn the same outfit more than once. They have shampoo in the rooms. And if we forget something then we buy it there. If you get a limo from the airport you can stop at a grocery store for 30 minutes.

I shipped in June. 20 pound box went from Oklahoma to CBR for $11.50. When I checked in, they brought it to the front and had it delivered to my room.
Shipping a 20 pound box BACK to Oklahoma from CBR - $30.00!
But... I still think it was worth it.
