Can you park for free......

...in the theme park lots if you are staying at a Disney resort?

Reason I'm asking is we are planning on possibly staying at a moderate or value resort and want to avoid the bus system since it is so busy. We would just like to drive our car over to the park....can we park for free or will we have to pay?

If you stay onsite at any Walt Disney World Resort Hotel you can park for free at any of the WDW theme parks. Just have your parking pass displayed on your dashboard and just incase show the Cast Member your KTTW card.

Just to add a bit to the answer you already have - you will find that many guests are happy to drive to Epcot, the Studios, and Animal Kingdom, but take Disney transportation to the Magic Kingdom. The reason is that from the MK parking lot, you still have to transfer to a boat/monorail ride. Busses go right to the front of the park, bypassing the transfer.

Maybe the best thing is to try driving once and see if it feels like a hassle. If you're OK with the boat ride/monorail, great. If not, maybe give the bus a try.

And you have my sympathies for trying a search - it's not been quite right for quite a while now, though I know the higher-ups keep trying to get it fixed. (Let's keep our fingers crossed.)
