We'll be staying at SSR & a friend is staying at Fort Wilderness in a cabin. Don't even know if it will work out but are we "allowed" to invite them over to swim?

Just not sure of the rules.

Thanks!
Stephanie

Officially, no. However, if the pool isn't crowded, it certainly doesn't hurt to ask, and you may be allowed to do so.

the only place you can't invite someone is the SALB at the BC/YC/BCV.

the way I do it - what size room are you staying in - 2-bedroom allows 8 - so if your family is less than 8 you can invite as many guests are the room will hold.

To clarify, use of pools by nonguests is not allowed at any resort. Pool hopping is a privilege limited to DVC members (and guests staying with them) staying on points at a DVC resort (if I am remembering the wording correctly). If you register them into your room up to the room capacity, even at SAB you should be OK.

Keep in mind that if you use DDP, you would be charged for their dining plan too if you add them as a room guest.

We invited friends to visit us at SSR last April. I checked with the front desk, and they said as long as they knew our name and room number they would be let through security. No restrictions were placed on their ability to use the pools....that would be impossible to police anyway (or at least difficult). My kids and theirs enjoyed an afternoon by High Rock Springs while we sat nearby enjoying refreshments from the pool bar!

Some pools do use and check wristbands (and each person must have a hotel ID to get the wristband). Unless you get the okay from the front desk, they may not allow the guest to stay, even then the lifeguards can ask guests to leave if the pool becomes crowded.

My cousin lives in Orlando and usually comes to visit us when we are staying at WDW. It's her, her husband and 3 little girls. They have spent a day at the pool with us every year that we have gone and at different resorts. However, we do not go to the main pool area. We always go to the quiet pool. So far it has not been an issue. I think it would be an issue if we used the main pool area though.

When at the BWV's last week, I saw a sign up that said the pool was for BW and their guests so I would think it would be okay.

I believe this means guests staying with them at this resort. If not then the pools would be crowded with non paying guests.
