I'm new to staying on site and looking for codes. I don't understand how they work. When we made our ressie for CBR, there were no codes out for Feb yet. We went through AAA and got $160/night. Is that a good price? Could we have done better waiting for codes? I've noticed that there is no place to put codes in the computer, so can they only be used when you call WDW? Now that we have our AAA confirmation, would it be too late to change anything if we did find a better price?

I know, so many questions....I'm sorry. Just bargain hunting, that's all. Thanks for any help that comes along.

I'm not the best one to answer this, but I believe that you can get AAA to apply codes to your reservation when they come out. You may have to keep watching yourself for better deals, but I'm almost sure they can apply the codes for you for your reservation.

I found that Mary's site (mousesavers.com ) was great. We saved 40% on room rates. That cost savings had us jump from the Wilderness lodge deluxe room to a 2Br villa. Be sure to drill down on the site and investigate all the options. You can try to book the new room without canceling your existing. Then cancel your current package once you have the new booking. I rebooked 3 times since September for or trip next week.

Good luck

When in Feb are you going? That rate seems a bit steep if you'll be there before the 13th. Y ou might even consider one annual pass. It would probably drop the price to $85ish per night. It might justify the cost of the AP. In fact, if you're staying 5 nights or more the saving is deffinitely justified.

By the way I'll be at WDW from Feb 6-11. You'll have to bring me some Friendly Ice Cream!!!!!

Hey Michael, I'm sorry to say that we'll miss you down there. We won't be going until 2-26 - 3-3. I'm afraid the ice cream won't make it to you. I don't know anything about APs. We only make it once a year, and I'm not sure if we can keep that up as the kids are getting older and harder to take out of school, which is why we've shortened our trip this year. I just don't want to go during school vacations and buck the crowds. Would an AP still be something we should look into? Does that have anything to do with park hoppers?

i'm no expert but I am an AP holder. For instance when I'g going in Feb the AP rate for the AKL was $109 and the code rate was $119. I waited around and the codes expired and the new rate was $199 but I was still able to book the AP rate saving $90/night or $450 over 5 nights. The cost of the annual pass is about $375. This is an ideal situation though. Just call and check if the AP rates are out for the period your going and do the math. Don't forget you'd be buying a hopper for the person with the AP so that shoudl be deducted first and then start figuring.
It may end up costing you more in the long run though because once you have an AP you no longer have to worry about passes and you can get the rock bottom room rate so you feel like going all the time. And assuming you fly out of Hartford where the rates are always cheaper than Boston I could really get dangerous.:jester:

One more thing. If you go in late Feb. this year you can try to go in early Feb or even late Jan next year and use the AP again. Another trip without having to buy passes.
