We have reservations made for our second trip the the World, 11/26-12/4. This makes our day of arrival the Friday right after Thanksgiving. I am hoping they extend some discounts like FD or kids eat/play free. However, I noticed that many times they block Thanksgiving weekend out and the discounts don't continue again until the Sunday after. My question is... since we arrive on Friday, does this mean we wouldn't qualify for the discount?? Could I possibly change my reservation to a split stay and move into the new hotel on the Sunday to get my discount? Could I do this without having to cancel my first whole reservation?? Then, what would happen to my ADR's already associated with my original reservation? And to think, I thought I had Disney figured out!!!

I know it's early but I'm trying to get my duscks in a row. Last year we got a great PIN and I didn't have to worry about it--doesn't look like that is going to happen again this year. Discount or not, we're still going and we're gonna have a great time!!! TIA

Yes

Yes just modify the first ressie

then, what would happen to my adr's already associated with my original reservation?

Nothing .... Just keep your conf #'s

and to think, i thought i had disney figured out!!!

Yes, you can. If you are on a package, however, you will have to buy tickets with each one. Sometimes, that takes away any savings you might get.

Exactly. It is the tickets that kills it as they are front end loaded (meaning the first 2 or 3 days are the big expense). The only time we did a split stay to get a deal we only had one day in the first resort and we didn't go to the parks that day.

BTW, what is a duscks? :rotfl2:

but according to posts on here from Chesire Figment who is a cm working in ticketing, you can get your tickets up to 3 days earlier from guest services at the park , I am hoping he is right!

It would only be a problem if the deal required you to buy tickets. In our case Free Dining required tickets. For room only deals it wouldn't be a problem as you could buy your tickets for your whole trip on your first stay and then not get tickets with your second. However if the discounted stay is the second and it requires tickets you have an issue.

No, what Cheshire said is that you can pick up your package tickets up to 3 days early. So if FD is released and in my case it applies on the 28th of November, I am arriving on the 26th, would need a separate room only for the 26-27, BUT, I could pick up my park tickets made with the ressie that goes from the 28th till whatever. You can purchase up to 10 days of tixs...granted, no dining on the room only ressie, but I can pick up the tickets early from the free dining ressie and use them during my room only one...

Thank you all for the clarifications! Even if FD is not offered right on our check-in date it seems as if there are ways we can still use it days later to work to our advantage. Now, it is time to just wait and see what happens. Come on FD!!!!
