Can you help me decide between Kidani and BLT?

I have stayed in both and prefer AK because of the decor and room size. The proximity to restaurants is the biggest drawback. The best thing about BLT is the walk to MK. The decor is a turn off and the tiny studio was awful. Honestly, staying there once was enough for us. We own at WLV which has a similar resort feel to AK.

I think you are focusing on which is your favorite resort.
First question you ened to ask yourself is 'what is my vacationing style"
ie do you book more than 7 months in advance or do you book less than 7 months out.
If you do less than 7 months out, then buy the best deal out there.
If you book more than 7 months out and ONLY want to stay regular in either of those 2 resorts you need to pick your favorite.
BLT costs more per room to stay in, but currently has lower MF fees

AKV has a wide variety of room point fees, but one of the higher MF fees

I have stayed at all of them except BLT. For me, i cant see spending my precious points on an overpriced room. If i want convience to MK WVL is just fine for me.

I own AKV..I like staying at all the resorts but if I have to be stuck at one, AKV is one of my favs

I am happy to share our big news that we bought at Animal Kingdom Villas today. Our plan is to add on with BLT once the Hawaii legalities are completed (they are not, as of yet). It is my understanding that the add on price for members will not necessarily rise on March 7th, correct?

I am happy to share our big news that we bought at Animal Kingdom Villas today. Our plan is to add on with BLT once the Hawaii legalities are completed (they are not, as of yet). It is my understanding that the add on price for members will not necessarily rise on March 7th, correct?

I own 200pts at bwv and 100 at bay lake. We have never stayed at baylake yet but were torn between a resale at AKV and BLT from disney direct. We decided to go the other way and buy more at BLT due to this thread so thanks everyone. I also have been following each day to see what would work out best for us and we are more about convience and restaurants and go for the modern feel in our home in Long Island, so BLT works. I love AKV. I love the decor. The quiet and the vibe. Its a great relaxation spot after a long day at the parks. When we first visited AKL we fell in love. Took a tour of Kidani and bought 160 pts on the spot. I always wanted to add on so I thought it would be a good time to tour BLT. Loved the proximity to MK and its decor as well. Its like a boutique hotel. Bought 100 pts and now have the best of both worlds.

You really can't go wrong with any DVC. We will be at BLT in May, OKW in Aug. and Dec., then BCV hopefully in OCT. We buy annual passes once every other year and try to go 5 times on our APs. This is our lucky year starting in May!!

Nice! I've always loved AKL/AKV too - we stayed there shortly after the Lodge opened in 2001 and thought it was truly beautiful, unique, and relaxing. There is just something special about the property. We keep going back for more.
