Can you get "takeout" on DDP?

I was wondering if you can use your TS DDP credit to get a takeout dinner? We would like to eat at Wolfgang Puck express for lunch, and get dinners from Wolfgang Puck Cafe to go,(app, entree, and dessert) to bring back to the hotel. Do they let you do this? Has anyone tried? Thank you

1) Usually they do not permit take-out.
2) The credits are non-transferable.
3) They don't know who will eventually get the meal.
4) But, you could always ask.

We couldn't even get our desserts to go when we ate there last time. We asked if we could just take our desserts with us to eat later and the waiter told me they weren't set-up for that. Once I got back I see that others have been able to get the desserts to-go, but we were told no go.

Well that stinks! There's nooo way possible DH and I can eat all that food! I was hoping to bring desserts back to the hotel every night for a late night snack. :sad2:

We brought our desserts back when we ate there on Aug 29th. The waiter was super nice about it and they even gave my husband fresh fruit since he couldn't eat any of the desserts they had (lactose intolerant)

We asked for desserts to go last year at WPC and the waiter brought them out to us plated. So, we simply requested To-Go containers. I am sure they aren't going to refuse you a doggy bag anywhere.

As far as getting an entire meal to go, I wouldn't count on it anywhere unfortunately. Seems silly to me, but no one in Disney management asked for my opinion :lmao:

It isn't silly when you understand the kitchen is set up for dining room capacity and doesn't have extra space (grill space, fridge space, supplies, oven space, etc.) to do a bunch of "to go" orders.

Le Cellier would have to have six times the amount of kitchen!

You make a good point and now I see why Disney didn't ask for my opinion :) I still think it's silly that they insisted on plating our desserts at WPC, though, even when we made it clear we wanted to take them to go. But after my short stint as The World's Worst Waitress during college, I can't pretend to have a clue about restaurant management!

OK, well my understanding so far is that we can't just go in and place a to go order, but we can doggy bag anything we want? Is that right? :confused3 (Just have the waiter/waitress bring the dessert or whatever it is then ask for a box?) Seems like extra work for them, but if that's what we have to do... I just hate to waste food , especially all those yummy looking desserts, but there is just no way we can eat it all in one sitting.

We took our dessert to go last year at Boatwrights. They didn't plate it - they just packed it up in a to go container!:goodvibes

we've sometimes asked for our dessert "to go" (when we're too full to eat it at the table) - i'm even considering getting an extra dessert to go at narcoosees (that almond crusted cheesecake is THAT good!!!)

who needs refrigeration?? i'll have it eaten before i leave the GF property!!

We went to ESPN club on 9/20. My daughter was VERY tired, so right before the entrees came out we asked the waitress if we could get them and the desserts to go. She didn't have a problem with it. I'd figure the waitstaff would like it since it means greater table turnover.
