Can you drop off/pick up person at parks?

We have a car and are staying offsite. On one of the days, we will be taking the kids to Universal, but the mother-in-law would rather be at Disney. Is there a way to drive to a park entrance and drop someone off without having to pay? Same for picking up. If not, what do you suggest?

I believe that there is a drop off - I've never used it, but I guess you would have to ask the person at the gate as you enter.

Another idea would be to drive to the Poly or the Contemporary, drop her off, and then she can use WDW transportation to get where she is going to.
