(Staying at BWI - but no park hopper tickets)

Suppose we were to take the monorail from MK to TTC to Epcot arriving at about 9pm, just as Epcot is closing.

Any chance we would be allowed into Epcot to be able walk from the Monorail station to the other park entrance over at World Showcase to exit near BWI/BC/YC???

The idea is to go: (monorail) MK -> TTC -> Epcot -> (walk to) BWI

I don't think that is possible without a park hopper ticket. The bus ride from MK would be much shorter.

I might be wrong though....

Even if you had Park Hopper tickets, I don't think you'd be allowed to enter the turnstile after 9pm.

Without Park Hopper tickets, you wouldn't be allowed to enter Epcot after visiting Magic Kingdom on the same day.

Agree with PP. Take a bus from MK to Boardwalk.

Thanks - the reason I'm asking is that our kids *really want* to ride the monorail at night after Wishes. (and they don't mind walking across Epcot since we have a double stroller for the 2 youngest)

Clearly we can get from MK -> Epcot station... it's just a matter of getting from Epcot station -> BWI.

It may not be ideal but you could ride the monorail with your kids like you want and then take a bus to DHS and then walk to the BWI. You don't need to enter the park to do it, you could also take the boat if you didn't want to walk. Of course this depends on how late the transportation runs for DHS on the day you plan on doing it.

Another option would be to ride the monorail, get off at one of the monorail resorts, take a bus to DtD and then one to the BWI.

If it were me, I'd just ride the monorail, then get off at the MK and get on a bus to the BWI.

You could do it on a night that Epcot has EMH.

The OP would need a valid ticket to enter Epcot if it was an EMH night, but they do not have park hoppers.

OP, once at Epcot, you can also take a cab back to the BWI.

Unfortunately without Park hopper tickets you will not be able to do this.

There is little reason to allow guests to enter Epcot after 9pm. You can somtimes access Epcot through the International Gateway right at park closing...but you do have to have a park hopper.

Any time you go through a park turnstile, you need a park pass. Without a hopper, it isn't going to happen. You 'may' be able to ride to Epcot, on the monorail, and then stay onboard and return to MK and take the bus to BW from there.

What if on your MK day you schedule a dinner reservation at one of the resorts on the monorail. That way you can ride the monorail to the hotel and then back to MK.

How long is DHS open that night? I like the idea of riding the resort monorail from MK to one of the resorts, catching a bus to DHS, then boat to BWI.

If that's not possible, ride the resort monorail ALL the way around, then catch the bus to BWI from MK.

Why not just ride the express monorail from MK, don't get off and go back to MK and get the bus to BWI? As long as you leave right after wishes, transportation runs for at least an hour after park closes.

OK, in the last week or so, I had to make some calls to BWI itinerary planning (and BWI front desk) to tweak some dinner reservations (sometimes the call got forwarded to itinierary planning at the GF). I spoke to about 5 different CM's and after finishing the matter of the dinner reservations, I asked each one of them the same question about arriving at the Epcot monorail platform near 9pm and being allowed to cut across to get to the BWI (exiting at France/England) 4 of them said this was OK to do, as long as you show your room keys, and maybe some ID. The sweet spot seems to be between 8:30 to 9:15. One of the 5 CM's I spoke to called Epcot Guest relations, and they said no, you can't do that. So there it is... 4 itinerary CM's say yes, 1 Epcot guest services CM says no. It's not set in stone. It would probably be best to find out for sure when we're there.

IMHO... if a family is staying CL at BWI (and can prove it by showing room keys) I don't see any harm in letting us cut across Epcot like this around 9pm.

You'll kind of be at the mercy of the cast members working at the Epcot entrance. Are you feeling lucky? :lmao:

So the rules should not apply to this family?:confused3

If a family is staying CL at BWI then they can afford a cab from the front of Epcot to BWI, especially considering GS at Epcot told you no.

(CM's on the phone are not known for giving correct information as some of them have never even been to WDW. GS at Epcot-have a better track record at giving correct info.)

Good luck.

I don't know why CL has any bearing on entering EPCOT without a park hopper. I would also just take a cab. Or take the monorail round trip and then take the bus. :thumbsup2:

I agree with the other posters that it shouldn't matter what level room you're staying in. The rules should apply equally. The harm is that if the CMs at the front gate let someone into Epcot without a valid ticket there is no gaurentee that said person won't try to get on a ride or watch IllumiNations. You can try, but be prepared to be told no.

Me either.:confused3 Staying at club level does not make one a more special guest, able to do whatever they want.

In order to enter 2 seperate parks on the same day you must have a park hopper. And you need to hop! There is no way on earth, despite what some apparently not so with it CMs told you, you will be able to enter 2 seperate parks on the same without a park hopper. Won't happen.

To be honest...no... I'm not going to chance that unless I'm certain. I just wanted to post here to if anyone else had any extra knowledge of this.

Also... this may be a moot point... it's starting to look like on the nights we're at MK, after Wishes we'll likely head over to Poly or GF to watch the electric light parade, then take the monorail back to the MK bus depot (for BWI).

I think it's kinda ironic that for all the talk Disney makes about "the future" you'd think that the whole park would be connected by WEDway people movers and monorails, instead of diesel buses.
