Can you change a tire?

Nope. I was a Brownie for awhile, but I didn't want to wear the uniform, so I dropped out. At the time, I didn't like to wear brown too much (I was 9 yo or so, and very stubborn ). Jumper cables? I'm too dangerous for those things. I'd probably blow up the wiring system with those things.

Grog, Driver's Ed wasn't even taught when I was in high school. I think it's taught in very few schools here now.

Shannon....you can do this!!! It's not hard....but my hands do shake a little when I am using the cables!! Haven't killed anybody yet....or fried any cars!!! What did I read in a post of yours this morning? I believe it was, "I am woman...hear me roar!!" Ya gotta believe!!!

LOL! Jodi, you don't know me and electricity. My SO hides the jumper cables with me so I won't blow anything up. My SO is protecting me from myself.

I went to unlock my filing cabinet at work one day last week and one of the ladies I work with finally saw the problem with me and electricity. There's not any wiring on the cabinet anywhere, and when I went to unlock the drawer with my key, she jumped about 3 feet. Sparks were flying (not joking). It's freaky sometimes. I am WOMAN with too much of an electric field, watch me spark.

Well....ya can't fight mother nature! HAHAHAHAHA!! So it's a "sparkling personality" we see everyday here huh? LOL! Never mind....stay AWAY from the jumper cables!!!!

I *knew* Shannon had an electric personality!! This means you don't need jumper cables if you have a dead battery. Just touch it & you'll be all set!

I have changed tires before and can do so if needed. If I am in a suit, I will let AAA do it for me.

There is (or used to be, this was many years ago for my DS) an activity badge for Webelos that require that scout know how to change a tire. I remember showing my son how it was done.

A couple of years ago, I was getting ready to switch from regular tires on my Saturn to my winter snow tires. I decided that it would be a good time to teach Sue to change a flat in the comfort of our garage. She agreed and so we headed out to our garage. I told her to pick a tire and get started. No helpful hints (other than to refer her to the owner's manual in the glove compartment of the car).

As I remember, it went rather well. I knew that she could do it. It was just a matter of actually taking the time to try. She hasn't had to install a spare tire since her training, but I'm glad that she knows how. And she is too.
