Can you carry out at a TS restaurant?

Maybe that's confusing, but here's my issue:

I've got an adr for Yak & Yeti on our next trip. Last time we were there (from what I can remember) the food was good, but the desserts were great! I was wondering about just ordering dessert? I was hoping to cut back on a ts meal, but I really want my dessert from here. What would you do?

Thanks!

Just go in and have dessert. There is no rule against just ordering dessert.

None of the table service locations are set up for to-go orders. However, once you are seated and order your food, once it is delivered to your table you can then ask for carry-out boxes. But there are no bags and it would be very difficult to get the food back to your room.

On two different occassions I have walked into the Brown Derby and ordered the Cobb salad to go. I Just walked up to the host/hostess table and ordered it without incident.

1) OK, this is a frequently asked question.
2) OFFICIALLY, the sit-down eateries don't do carry-out.
. . . kitchens are staffed to serve a certian amount of patrons
. . . adding carry-outs add extra orders
. . . the kitchen could easily become overloaded
. . . in such a case, the table guests would have to wait too long
3) However, once in a while the CM will allow it.
4) It does not happen often, so, do not count upon it.
5) But, sometimes you get lucky for a side-dish or small entry.
. . . salads
. . . soups
. . . dessert
6) The reason is that these take little kitchen time to prepare.
7) Thus, might not overload the kitchen staff

I have been able to order carry out desserts from Brown Derby with no problem. I did this at a time when they were not busy at all, so that may have made a difference. I would imagine most restaurants would be willing to do it for a dessert, as long as it was at a time when they are not swamped.

Sit at the bar and have dessert. You can order anything at the bar. You can even order the dessert from the bar and get it to go. The bartenders had no problem with this regarding appetizers. If you want to keep the ADR and just order dessert you can also do that.

Most WDW restaurants will not allow carryout, especially after the dining plan. I know of two restaurants that stopped allowing carryout entirely due to the dining plan (Olivia's and Beaches & Cream). Some will do it if they are not busy. At most of them it shouldn't be counted upon. I would not even say that most of them will allow it for a dessert. It completely depends on who you ask when you get there.

I think sitting at the bar and having desert is a great idea.
We sat at the bar while waiting for our table last year. It was cool and quiet, a nice respite.
Have Fun

As others have mentioned TS are not set up for take out and officially the answer is no..However some people have had success, yMMV.BUT taking a desert from yak and Yeti at AK back to a resort means it might be a mess by the time you get there.

Yea I was going to post this also. It seems people were getting upset that they were being charged a TS credit for what they thought should be a CS credit.
