can you call ms and make a reservation before you close?

My 11 month home resort window is now and I was just wondering if I could make a reservation before the official "closing"

Closing is just a formality. You can make a reservation as long as you have a membership number and the points available.

so to put it plainly, if you bought direct through Disney, yes you can...if you buy resale you can't. Direct sales will immediately be given a membership number and put in the system, resales are actually delayed beyond closing, because by the time the deed transfer happens, then DVC gets notified and you have to wait for them to add the contract.....
