Can you buy lunch at the pool bars

of either the Wilderness Lodge or the Poly? If not, how far away are the counter service places from the pool? Trying to plan ADRs on my resort day where we will hopefully be at the pool all afternoon.

At WL the counter service is just inside the door. Not far at all. They do have outside seating for your counter service.

The CS place at the Poly is very close to the Volcano pool area.

Very common to see people eating lunch by the pool! We had some yummy pork nachos from Captain Cook's, and there are tables scattered around by the pool, the beach, and the bar. Same thing at WL. You just have to walk over and get it to go. They don't have waitresses for food poolside.

There are some pool bars where you can order food, but I think they are the ones that are not located close to a CS (Kidani Village, Boardwalk, Coronado Springs and Beach/Yacht come to mind.) Doesn't apply to either Polynesian or WL because their CS restaurants are close to the pool. The pool bars don't have poolside servers, you have to go to the bar to order your own items.
