Can you buy a loaf of bread at the resorts?

Hey everyone. Just wondering if the gift shops sell bread. We are staying at ASmo and never noticed when we were there in May. As I was making the PB sandwiches today a light bulb went off :idea:that this would be a good idea to make for breakfast in the am before hitting the parks. My DD's love them. I searched it and the last thread was from 2006 with conflicting answers. So I'm putting it out there again. Thanks for the help. :)

You can buy bread at the gift shop at the All Stars. Look in the back on a shelf by the coolers. They have a small selection of food items.

They do but its really expensive. My wife and I usually bring a small ice chest into our room. I'm a big kid so I'll have PB&J for breakfast quite often. We just buy a box of those uncrustables and keep them on ice. Then I just grab one in the morning on my way out to the park.

I've noticed loaves of bread at the gift shops at the DVC resorts and also at the Allstar Music, Sports and at the POP.
I do not recall seeing any at the moderate resorts, or deluxe but I could be mistaken.
It may be more expensive than buying bread a your local grocery store but its still a heck of a lot cheaper than buying breakfast in the food courts or even buying a few slices of bread at the food court.
I like to bring my bagels and peanut butter, so that I can eat a quick breakfast and watch my calories. Peanut butter travels very well in a suit case, I just wrap it up in a few plastic bags just to be safe. I think most jars are plastic these days. I never taken jelly, but I'm sure you could do the same thing. You have to put them in your checked luggage you can not take these items in your carryon

I believe there was bread at POR last year. There were several food items, but I didn't notice the prices. I had gone for milk, and they did have that too.

Thanks everyone. I'm going to bring the PB and buy the bread there. I'd bring my own, but I don't think it would survive the airplane. And if I can't find the bread, I know DD-4 will eat the PB of the spoon. Yum healthy breakfast.

We always buy bread in the resort stores. I don't see where it is that expensive. Sure, it's more expensive than store brands (about $1.25 here), but we have paid anywhere from $2.50- $3.50 for a loaf at WDW and it is very good bread. I seem to recall buying Sara Lee (but I could be mistaken about the actual brand). I know Sara Lee or other name brands are the same price in the stores here as they were at WDW.

BTW, my kids LOVE having PB&J in the room at WDW (usually an afternoon snack for them) and they hardly ever eat it here at home!!!:confused3

CR- I seem to be following you around like a lost puppy the past few days!!! LOL

Anyways, regarding the Fantasia Market- do they also sell gallons or quarts of milk?

Thanks!
I am assuming that milk is also sold there and I can see for myself in a few weeks when I am there.

The Settlement Trading Post over at FW has a very good selection of groceries, never checked the prices though. They cater to the camping crowd over there and the rear of the store is dedicated to food.
