So I was reading in another thread, but I want to make sure that I understand this correctly.

If I book a package (2 rooms, DDP, 8 day MYW tickets) through Dreams Unlimited, I'll be able to get my AAA discount on the room portion of our package? Is this correct?

Can we get the AAA discount on both rooms that we book, or only one?

Thanks for any help or info you can give me. :)

Unless something has changed, packages with a AAA rate can only be booked through AAA. Travel Agents can book the AAA room only rate, but not the AAA package. Of course they can book any other regular or discounted package.

Well if that's the case, does anyone know a great AAA travel agent who is well educated in booking Disney packages, and please PM me their phone number or email address. The local AAA travel agent I talked to isn't Disney educated at all.:headache:

They can give you the AAA discount on the room. Go to their website and request a quote for what you're looking for. It doesn't take that long. You might get an answer back tomorrow.

I never thought it would be so difficult to book 2 rooms with a AAA discount and then add DDP and tickets.:goodvibes

I can't do it through Disney.....I can't do it through Dreams Unlimited......I'd loooove to do it through AAA, except my agent is Disney-lexic.

Doesn't anyone know a great "Disney" AAA agent? Pretty please?.....:flower3:

Ah then this makes my question as such:
If you go ahead and reserve your room using a AAA rate, can you just add the dining plan when you get to that resort? Or does Disney let you add the DP when you get there?

No.. they don't.

DDP must be ordered as part of a package unless you are an annual pass holder. Regardless, it must be booked no later than 3 days before arrival.

In order to get the AAA discount on a package, you MUST book with an AAA Travel agent. There is no way around this.

I am really getting confused. I currently have a package reservation through my AAA travel agent with a AAA rate room,9day Park Hopper and Dining plan. We are now also planning a trip for May so I would like to get an annual pass. I read that now annual passholders can add the dining plan to their package. Can my AAA agent add the annual pass and keep dining plan to my package without losing my AAA rate room??? I called Disney travel and they said "probably". My agent of course is on vacation this week so I'm driving myself crazy with analyzing all of these options.

I understand that Disney will not allow this (annual pass, + dining plan+ AAA rate) because you can only have one discount. AAA however can book a package with AAA rate + dining plan - so my only switch would be the annual pass instead of 9 day Park Hopper. I am not fully confident in my agent's knowledge of the Disney policies ...HELP!! ..please

You would still need to purchase at least a one day standard park ticket for your party if you're going through AAA to still make it a package (in order to have the dining).

We have AP's, but currently there is no AP discount for room for our trip. We had to get a AAA package to be able to get the AAA room discount and to add the DDP...but we had to also had 2 standard park tickets (there are two of us) in order to get a AAA package. Even though we didn't need park tickets we had to buy them anyway in order to add the dining...which was cheaper than booking as an AP, paying rack rate on our room and then adding dining. I hope this makes sense!

If an AP discount on the room is available for your trip, you don't need to go through AAA and purchase a package.

WDTC offers some ticketless packages for AP-ers that can also be booked through AAA. However, those are specific packages.
So a AAA rep could not take a current WDTC AAA MYW package and just omit the tickets. They would need to switch the MYW AAA package to a AP AAA ticketless package. And then parts of the package may vary.
You would just need to check through a AAA agent.
As already posted, there is no way to book a WDTC AAA package without going through AAA.
You could book a AAA room only. But that is what you get -- room only. (Room only is not WDTC. The DDP is from WDTC.)

thank you for the help. Like everyone else I am trying to make my way through the make of many options while being cost effective too :)

I think the annual pass makes sense because the cost of tickets for our two trips is almost the same as the cost of the AP. Do you still have to buy a standard ticket to get the Dining Plan with the annual pass - I thought that was changed recently?

I just don't want to lose the AAA rates on our rooms in May & Dec (savings of about $700). I would like to have the dining plan because we love a good table service dinner.

I realize AAA TA must book the AAA package but I worry that my agent is not up to speed on all of the nuances. Is there a way I can speak to Guest Relations to get advice (I realize AAA TA can only make changes)? Disney Travel told me today that I probably could keep the AAA rates + dining plan - so this seems like a gray area. I certainly appreciate any advice. Thank you in advance!!
