I don't want the mess in the microwave or on the stove.

Can I throw it in the oven on a cookie sheet?

Thanks:thumbsup2

You can, but the grease will likely splatter, smoke up the kitchen and/or start a fire. (yeah I done it before)

Yes you can-I do it all the time-just make sure it's a cookie sheet with edges!

I've done it many times but to be honest - it's not as good as fried IMO!

Barefoot Contessa just did this on her show the other night. I think she put the bacon on a cookie sheet and then put another cookie sheet on top to stop splattering and keep the bacon flat. I was doing stuff while it was on so I didn't see the whole thing. She might have the recipe on www.FoodNetwork.com

ok not exactly the lower calorie version of bacon- but I do put it on a rack(cookie cooling rack) and then onto a jelly roll pan(cookie sheet with sides) then the yummy but not healthy part... you sprinkle the bacon with brown sugar! It helps the bacon to get crunchy and yummy. it takes about 30 minutes at 375

I bake bacon on a Pampered Chef stoneware pan with edges. I think I usually put it in for about 25 minutes on about 350 degrees. I've never had a problem with splattering. I had having to clean the mess when I cook it on the stove top.

I bake bacon in a jelly roll pan. I line the pan with aluminum foil that I've folded ridges across so the bacon doesn't sit in the grease.

I cook mine in the microwave. I lay the bacon on a paper towel and cover it with one. No spatters and easy to clean up.

The cook at my last job lined up bacon on paper and baked it on a large cookie sheet. It came out great!

This is the only way DW will cook bacon. I have given up cooking it because of the hassle/mess.

I ALWAYS bake my bacon!!!!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 It comes out just fine and it really doesn't splatter hardly at all.

I have a heavy duty pan I use, that has a lip so the grease won't spill.

Many people do this...

absolutely!

many resturants bake their bacon.

Foil lined sheet. 425 oven. Start checking about 12 to 15 minutes. It will get as crispy as you want it to. Just leave it in a few minutes longer.

I saw that one. She put a cooling rack on a baking sheet with sides, baked for who knows how long, 15-20 min? took it out of the oven, brushed it with maple syrup, then put it back in the oven...

I had a dream about this post last night :rotfl2: :confused3 . I have baked bacon with brown sugar and oh BOY is that good. I bake it in a glass dish at 350° for about 45 minutes.
