If I Want To Add Points Can I Buy Them From
Members Or Disney?

I Beleive Disney Gets $95 Point On New Timeshares.

Say I Buy A 90 Point Timeshare Can I Add 10 Points In Future So I Will Have 100 Points.

Thank You

John

The minimum add-on purchase through Disney is 25 points if you are buying with cash and 50 points if you are financing through Disney. As long as you are buying at least 25, you can buy any quantity you prefer. If it is your intitial purchase through Disney, you must purchase at least 150 points; in a resale purchase, you can buy any number of points as long as someone wants to sell and has a contract for that amount.

No, you can't add 10 points, you must add at least 25 points. You can do this by resale, but that is a costly way to do so. If you are purchasing a larger add-on(say 100 pts) then the cost via resale is more feasible. It is easiest, by far, to add on thru Disney. You just call your rep and tell him to put you on the list for points at the resort of your choice, and he will call you when some become available. You will be required to give them a credit card number in order to be put on the list, I believe. The only resort with an incentive is SSR, for the others you pay full price with current dues. You will be able to use the points immediately, however.

You can purchase a resale from a realtor. If you want to purchase through an individual, you will still have to go through Disney's Right of First Refusal - if the price per point is too low, Disney will buy it before you can. Buying from Disney is very easy. A member cannot sell part of their points. What you buy at one time is a single contract. Unless you set up the purchase from Disney as multiple contracts.

Low point resales often go very quickly and may not even be posted on a realtor's website.

If you buy from Disney, you pay zero closing costs. If you buy resale you will pay at least $400 in closing costs, but the price per point may be lower. Sold out resorts are not available through Disney unless they have bought up points throught ROFR. You have to get on a waiting list to get those.

If you purchase through resale, you can only buy what is being offered. You cannot buy just part of a contract.

If you purchase through Disney, your add-on can be anything from 25 points on up to whatever you'd like.

Keep in mind that purchasing resale does not make the contract an add-on. In most cases it becomes a separate membership number and will require completely separate point management from your initial contract.
