Can we transfer points in holding?

[Sorry, I tried to search but the search feature is wacky; I can no longer limit my search to DVC forums even though I highlight the forum -- my search result generated hundreds of threads from all the other forums.]

I have some points in holding that expire in the fall. I don't feel up to renting them vis-a-vis a booking because I'd have to use non-holding points to add to the mix for any decent reservation and I'd rather not do that right now. So may I transfer them to someone else's account (if someone were willing to accept holding points)?

I don't see anything in the planner that prohibts the transfer of holding points. It simply says that they can't be banked or borrowed.

But, of course, some of the transfer rules are not really that clear so a call to MS might be a good idea.

Here is a quote from MS

Holding account points can be transferred, however, Holding Account Vacation Points will remain in a Holding Account in the new membership.

In years past transferring holding account points actually in reality removed them from holding status. I haven't seen anything in the last 2-3 years to suggest this is still the case but I haven't seen anything to the contrary either.

Thanks for the replies! I didn't have time to call MS earlier and it really hurts that MS closes at 2:30 pm my time.
