Yesterday turned out to be a lovely day for a dip in the Atlantic Ocean. Though a breeze did start to pick up right around noon - plunge time!

Here are a few pictures from before the plunge -

Now as you will recall from the pictures from last year, our team members wear plastic butts into the ocean... (it's about freezing off their butts afterall...) I just want everyone to see this before picture, just in case their is any confusion about one of the actual plunge shots. I don't want to cause any trouble here on the DIS. DH is clearly wearing a bathing suit, right?

Outside the casino ballroom (where the indoor portion of the event was held). That blue building is the beginning of the sand... LOTS of people there to participate and watch.

Now check out this shot... When I got to the beach I couldn't see Tim anywhere so I was just taking a ton of shots. After I uploaded them I spotted him in the picture above, so I cropped it for a close up:

I swear he is wearing his bathing suit - and if you look closely you can see it... that other guy's arm is just in the way. I promise!! (I hope I don't get in trouble...)

On Saturday, DH went out and bought me my very own laptop!! It's the first time I've had a laptop & the first time I've had my very own computer!

Here she is:

Do you like the background DH set up for me? Isn't he sweet!!

He has a mac for work and LOVES it! I'm still getting used to the differences, but I love having my own computer. The only problem is, right now I'm sitting at our old "family" computer because I can't copy my pictures from photobucket into my posts using the mac???

Any mac users out there have suggestions? I'd really love to be able to post my updates from my new computer...

Wow! When you said that you got a new toy, I never imagined it would be something as big as a laptop! Score!

I have a mac...and love it. 10 years and not a single virus. I have to click on the photo and although is says copied in yellow highlight. I have to go to edit at the top and click copy. I have no idea why. Then when I go to my thread and paste it appears. Let me know if that doesn't work and I can try pm you screen prints.

Burr they do the polar plunge here. They actually cut a hole in Lake Okoboji and people jump in and come back out. They have a hot tub on the lake for afterwards. And of course paramedics. Its a great weekend, but I hate when my toes get cold so I never last long, even out of water. Couldn't imagine jumping in!!!

Nice new toy! I have a laptop, but it's been shared with the boys and it was inexpensive to start with. Not in great shape. I hate having to share my computer.

I couldn't believe that picture when I found it!! It still cracks me up!

I've been thinking about a laptop for a while - I started doing more bookkeeping in the fall & thought I could use my own computer - sharing with the kids is a pain in the neck! And it will just get worse as they get older. When our computer lost power last weekend, that was the final straw... I had a to finish 1099 forms for a client that Monday and still had no computer... the time had come and so we finally did it!

I'm loving the new laptop so far - still getting used to the differences of the mac. I decided I shouldn't have to share anymore when I found the kids checking out the new icon on the old computer - they had opened up Quickbooks! Luckily they didn't do anything to it!

I got a mailing from Autism Speaks about some kick-off events here in Chi-town end of Feb and March before the big walk in May. I was setting it in the recylce bin cause we won't be able to make them, and Michael saw it and was so worried we were not going to do the walk this year. He hasn't said much about it since last May, but I'm all that it really did mean that much to him. I guess I have another thing to plan!!!!

Have to start after Disney, my plate is getting full w/ the trip, church and school things, plus all the daily crazies and trying to organize my scrap space, plus work on the Disboard stuff.

It's all GOOD though!

We may be bringing down a hand held computer do-hickie thing from his work if it's not on loan and try and do live line updates etc from the parks via a twitter account. I don't know anything about it, but Dh is the one who brought it up and is willing to hook it all up for me and my crazy Dis obsession. I guess he does get it

Alex used to call the autism walk, the "special walk" - we skipped it this past year - there is some tension here in NH between Autism Speaks and some of the smaller state autism groups... and the fall 2007 walk wasn't run very well. We decided to focus our fundraising on the Penguin Plunge this year. I'm glad Michael enjoys it.

Last but not least, our visit to see the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue - I saw this show one other time, when I was 9 years old - my very first trip with my family. Here are the 1998 photos:

I hope you enjoyed my trip down memory lane! Sorry the pictures are small and hard to see - I scanned them and tried several times to make them bigger, but this was the best I could do.

Sometime in the next few weeks, I'll scan photos from our 2002 trip when Alex was 16 months old.
