Everyone always talks about the "main" characters you would expect to see at Disney, but will we get to see characters like Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Simba, Genie, Beast, etc.? I haven't been to Disney in over 10 years and have never taken kids. It will be a whole new experience for us. Are there certain places to find the characters. I don't recall seeing many when I was there 10 years ago, but that could be because I wasn't looking for them. My 3 kiddos are dying to meet some characters.

You can see Woody, Jessie, and Buzz at Al's Toy barn at MGM. I don't remember seeing the other characters you mentioned.

We saw Genie in Epcot in Morocco. We also saw Beast in France at Epcot (I think that was the country).

I've seen all the characters you mentioned in MGM and like Littlestix said, the Toy Story characters are always at Al's Toy Barn in MGM.

Since your visit there is so many more characters available and many areas are very structured with que lines and CM's assisting, so not stressful.

Magic Kingdom: Buzz is in the Timekeeper building in Tomorrowland right next to his ride. We waited maybe 5 minutes. Woody & Jesse were in the I think the old Horseshoe Revue building in Frontierland, again a short wait. We met Genie, Jafar, Aladdin and Jasmine in Adventureland. Have never seen Simba but met Timon and Rafki in Adventureland as well. I think this last trip we met about 20+ in one day without trying too hard.

Mary Poppins, Stitch, Aurora, Cinderella, Snow White, Mickey, Minnie, Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore, Donald, Darkwing Duck, Goofy......And many more than that last summer.

Beast has been the hardest. We have met him twice I think, both at MGM.

We have seen the Genie near the Flying carpet ride at MK. I thought he was rather funny looking. Actually took a while to figure out who he was.

I think all the characters you mentioned (except for Simba) are in the MGM parade. MGM also has many characters wondering around, and they have a spot where the new Incredibles characters are.

We saw the Toy Story characters at MGM at Al's Toy Barn. We saw Genie (and Princess Jasmine) in Morocco at Epcot, and Belle and Beast were in France at Epcot but we missed them because DS didn't want to wait 15 minutes for them to come out.

I remember going to WDW in the late 1980's and it was IMPOSSIBLE (and dangerous) to get near any of the characters! I do have one picture of me with Mr. Smee (Peter Pan) but that's about it! The way they have the characters now is fabulous! There is a "Times Guide" every day for every park. It lists what time characters will appear and where, then you can see the exact location on the map. It doesn't tell you specifically which characters will be there, but we weren't looking for anyone in particular. We had really good luck at Epcot getting the "classic" characters like Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Chip & Dale. They also had Robin Hood and Pinocchio characters.

We had so much fun getting pictures and autographs! Have a great trip!!

Jasmine, the prince and the genie were in a meet and great near the entrance to adventureland on the right hand side as you come in from main street.

You can also ask at town hall for list of where they will be that day?

As soon as you enter MK, in the town square you'll see plenty of characters. The ones we saw there normally are Timon, Rafiki, Robin Hood, Brer Bear, then they added Launchpad McQuack and Darkwing Duck. You can find the Sully and Mike also at MGM by the ABC Comissary area, Kermit and Miss Piggy near Muppetvision 3D also at MGM.

Characters are also abundant near the big hat at MGM. We've seen the Pooh gang somedays, somedays it's all the princesses and princes.

At each park, pick up a times and guide sheet. In it you'll find a list of where characters will be positioned and when. If you're in search of a specific one, you can ask a CM and they can direct you to where a certain character is.

I've seen Belle and the Beast numerous times at the French pavillion in Epcot. Mary Poppins and Pooh are at the England pavilion and Koda and Kenai are in Canada.

Happy character hunting!
