Yes, you can! They even pipe the music onto the beach. The only thing is that you don't have a really clear view of the fireworks. There are trees in the way and you can't see the lower level fireworks or the castle. It's still a great place to watch them.
You sure can. You can get a better view from the smaller beach area to the right side of the boat rental building. There is a sea wall with a rope rail and a small beach area just to the right side of that. You can even see the castle perimeter fireworks from this area.
Thank you. You should also plan to be there for the electrical water parade/pageant - my photos didn't turn out so I don't have any but the kids loved seeing that (well the boys did, TinyGirl slept through it all) I think it still goes by the Fort at 9:45 every night
Not only can you see it, but if your family is anything like mine, it'll turn into a highlight of the trip. I'll admit, I had NO interest in seeing them from the beach. I'm a purist: You're in the park, or you ain't botherin'. But my friend Gary insisted that we drag everyone down to the beach.
Well, I stand corrected. The kids played on the sand. The adults went up to the Crocket's Tavern bar and returned with delicious beverages. The music was piped in. The whole thing was kinda awesome. Yes, we didn't have the BEST view in the world, but it was pretty darn good nonetheless. And there's something kinda cool and magical about seeing them over the trees/water. (Plus, not having to deal with the crowds afterward? IN the words of a Visa commercial, PRICELESS!)
Yes, Fort Wilderness. You can park in the Outpost lot (the sign for Hoop De Doo parking), then take a bus to the Settlement bus stop, then walk to the beach.
I'm so glad you asked that! We've stayed at the cabins twice now and I still haven't seen the fireworks at the beach. But I the water pageant.
BTW that ain't overplanning. Overplanning is something I saw on the restaurant board. Overplanning is asking what a certain chef's schedule is so he'll be there for your Ohana ADR
Although I know that you can, I honestly don't think that we've ever seen the fireworks from FW beach. If you can, it's definitely been awhile. We've always gone commando style, and are usually in DTD on an off night. This time around, I'd like to do things differently. Long story just to ask...
Do you have to be at a specific part of the beach to hear the music?

Nah. I booked that restaurant in hopes of getting that chef for my birthday dinner. When you have certain food allergies, you plan (everything in life, really) a little differently.

If you are planning on going commando, you might want to ignore the packing list that is being discussed in another thread on this board. Otherwise hanging out back in the bushes may be your only option...
