Hello, I have read lots of the info regarding the dining plan and know it is a hot topic! :sunny:
I will have to buy an adult ticket for my 10 year daughter and must admit it hurts (especially when so many people say I should fudge on her age...) :sad2:

Anyway, here is what I was thinking we could do but don't know if it is OK. Can we all 5 go to dinner at say, the San Angel Inn and order cockatails for hubby and me and then share 3 dinners? Or 2 dinners? We can not possibly eat that much food at one time and would love to be able to restaurant hop in the world! I know the plan says we can share but is this what they mean? Do servers frown on this? We would tip on our drinks of course!

I really have searched for this info but figured I was wasting my time when someone on this group has (hopefully) done this!

Thanks!!

From what I understand from what I've read and what my travel agent has told me, they expect you to share meals on these tickets for all the food you get at one sitting... what they won't do is let you buy 3 dining plans when you have 5 people., and split them that way. You must buy a dining plan for every person staying at their hotel. That's my understanding anyway, how you divide them up or share them, they don't worry about.

Thank you! that is what I was hoping but it seems to good to be true! My family can share lots of food!

Share and enjoy. have a great vacation.

I just spoke with a dining CM and asked if we could share meals on the DP and there was silence on her end. I said "Hello, do you know the official policy regarding sharing meals?" and she sighed and said she would have to go ask but she never came back and my cell phone died while I was waiting for her to return. Unless we can share at each TS dinner it simply would not be worth it for my family! Way too much food at one sitting.

Yes, you can share your credits. You have to have the DP for everyone in your party....but how you use them is up to you!

We did this a few times in Epcot because we had some extra CS credits. So DH and I would share a CS meal in the different countries. It was a great way to try different stuff.

We never did this in a TS, but I know of lots of others who have done this.

Just a clarification -- You can not share at any buffet restaurant or All You Care to Eat meal. They will charge a TS credit for everyone in the party.

We shared at one of teh TS it was just too much food, the other thing we have done is let DD (considered an adult now) order off the children's menu and pay OOP and save her meal for another time. This is not the same as using children's credits for adults, it is savinga n adult credit to use later for an adult.
We also find that 4CS with desserts is too much food so we usually order three and perhaps and extra entree sans fries to share--ie hot dog ala carte.
BTW the big grab chips serves three as well.
