Tron- early entry

I believe that Tron is NOT open during early entry, however this was posted on Disney Tourist Blog in January- Unofficially, our experience in the last several months has been that TRON Lightcycle Run has been open for Early Entry. That doesn’t mean it’s always available, but I’m 6 for 6 since last August.

Does anyone have any more information?

This is the first I have heard of this. People join a line (not sure if it's in the Tron queue or not) but, I have not heard of anyone actually riding Tron prior to 9AM.

Curious to find out other guest's experiences.

I walked up to the line at about 8:50 Thursday last week. The line was still well outside the building, but had started moving. Based on where the line was when I got there, I suspect it was not open at 8:30, but it did open before 9. I was on and off in 30 minutes (this was a relatively low-crowd day, so YMMV on that part.) By the time I got inside, they were not using the digitization room mini-preshow-thing, but rather just had it open to walk through, so it had not backed up to that yet.

End of May this was not the case. By the time the park officially opened the wait time was 1 hour.

In Feb 1 hour after opening the line was something like 30 min or less, so it is possible they did open early. We went straight to Mine Train so I can’t confirm for sure.

FWIW it's not listed on Disney's own website as one of the rides open for early entry either.

You are correct although I believe OP is asking if it is ever 'unofficially' open prior to park opening?

e.g. We rode SDMT prior to ETPE opening last year as the attraction started running with guests earlier than the official ETPE hours began.

OP is asking if the same ever happens with Tron by accepting guests prior to official park opening?

I know, just wanted to be sure that this is what their policy is (as opposed to whatever DTB is saying, if its outdated, etc). My guess is that it's not official but maybe they start getting the line moving before 9? Saying this as someone who hasn't done rope drop for MK.

Correct. I'm wondering if this is the case. I know it's not official, but wondering if it's likely to happen.

We rode it during EE in September. We thought it was odd because it was announced in the park as we walked to the hub that it opened at regular park opening. We headed there first and they were letting people on. We walked right on and were able to ride twice before 8am. That particular day EE was 7:30am and the park opened at 8am. We were surprised.

I love that it is actually running early, but it would be so nice if they would just make it part early entry so we would know how to plan!

Does anyone have any more recent experience with this? Has Tron been open during Early Entry? I will not buy an ILL for it. Having such a hard time figuring out how to do Tiana's, BTMRR, (it opens 2 days before our day there) 7DMT and Tiana's. I will try to get BTMRR as my Tier 1 choice. Will hopefully get to pull a Tiana's day of. Will rope drop 7DMT. Just can't figure out how/when to do Tron.

This is one ride that doesn't bother me that it's not open for early entry. I prefer riding this one at night anyway. Get in line a few minutes before the park closes and the CMs have to stay late to clear the line out!

Some have done EE to 7DMT Then after riding that head on over and get into the line for Tron. This should help minimize some of the wait as you get ahead of the larger crowd. However, this assumes that you are in early entry at a decent time, not just waltzing in at early entry open time. You would want to be toward the front of the early entry line therefore try to get to the park early.
