We have a lunch ADR at 50s Prime Time but we aren't big on eating large and heavy lunches at WDW in Aug...but desserts...yes...we will eat big heavy desserts:thumbsup2:cloud9: Is it a faux pas to go to 50's and just order a bunch of Desserts and milk shakes???

You will be fine.

I have done this at Brown Derby and heard of others doing it as well.

WDW restaurants are like anywhere else, you can order what you want.

Have fun eating dessert for lunch!! ;)

Yes, unless you are traveling with my husband :lmao: We did exactly this one of our trips & he practically ruined the experience being "embarassed" about sitting at a table and not ordering a "meal". Ahh, those vacation memories :scared1::eek::rotfl2:

We ordered dessert only during EMH at 50s. No problem of course, and the waiter didn't skip a beat. :thumbsup2

We were on DDXP that trip. I didn't have any space for a full meal at 50s in our schedule even with a 12 night stay (I know, I know :lmao: ) but still wanted to check out the restaurant for future trips. So, when calling Disney Dining we had them note on the ADR that we were coming for out-of-pocket dessert only . . . just in case it helped them schedule more precisely.

That day we were scheduled to have our daily 7:30 breakfast at Boma, and then the Fantasmic dining package at the Brown Derby. Because we wound up getting hungry early (we didn't gorge ourselves at Boma since we ate there every morning, plus we learned to pace ourselves as good little DDXPers ;)) we wound up walking up to the Brown Derby and getting our ADR time shifted to earlier in the day. We wound up with an ADR just after 3:30 if memory serves. After Fantasmic we found we weren't hungry enough to justify heading to 50s as early as we thought. 50s was extra flexible with us moving our ADR later that night with only an hour's notice because they knew it was for dessert only. Plus they said they had people ready to take the ADR on the spot. Gotta love traveling during the slowest weeks of the year. :goodvibes

I pondered doing this for one of the restaurants on our upcoming trip and felt too guilty to take a server's table for a couple of desserts. I am just thinking though, we would be in and out of there in half the time someone eating a full meal would be there so they would be able to turn the table again. Hmm, maybe I will do that .....

I can't verify on the desserts, but DH and I tried to order only an appetizer and drinks (beer & a margarita) at San Angel Inn during lunch and they told us no. :guilty:
