Can we get a separate "crowds" board?

Disney World is one of the top tourist destinations in the entire US. It is going to be crowded people. Quit worrying so much about how crowded it may or may not be, plan your vacation, and just enjoy yourself. This board is cluttered with so many "crowd" posts, it is unbelievable. Here's a general summation for when its most crowded: weekends will be crowded, holidays will be crowded, spring break time will be crowded, summer will be crowded..... that just about sums it up.

Pretty soon it will be, "How are the crowds on February 22 at 2:05pm when there is a crescent moon scheduled?". What does last years "date-X" have to do with what's going on this year?

Can we get a separate "crowds" board? How about a "crowds" board with every single date of the year, and people can come back and post how the crowds were during their stay. That way, others can just conveniently pull up a day and see what it was like. (and others won't have to wade through all the repetitive crowd posts).

 BTW, in addition to being crowded, we also have bugs here. That should take care of that.

Glad you brought that up...

Can you tell me how bad the bugs are in May? I really need to know!!!!

TIA.

Maybe they could just put a Crowd-O-Meter and a Bug-O-Meter on the DIS front page... the Crowd-O-Meter can go from "Walk On" at the bottom, through "FastPass" and "Sharpen Your Elbows" and finally up to "I Hope You Brought A Good Book" and "It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas (or Presidents' Day week)".

That's a thought.... the Crowd-O-Meter and the Bug-O-Meter. Certainly Disney could provide the days attendance for the present and the past year. Maybe like a yesterdays attendance and the attendance for the present day a year ago for each park. That wouldn't be so tough.

OK I"m guilty, I asked about crowds at the end of August because we never went that time of year. My favorite is when people ask - Is is really that crowded during Thanksgiving or Christmas week?? YES it is!!

btw August wasn't that bad or hot either.

Remember Disney doesn't give out attendance numbers.

For anyone setting up that crowd -o- meter...it was totally dead the week of Janurary 27, 2003. dd went on PeterPan 8 times in a row (Sunday at 10am) the last few times without getting off the ride. I think the CMs were getting tired watching her race through the ropes.. ;)

Hope that tidbit of info helps.

Crowded? Bugs? What about heat and humidity? Is is hot or humid there in July? How about December?

Will it rain in August and September?

We always laugh at the weather questions. Because as Floridians know it is never the same from year to year and the weather changes very quickly. Do what we do watch the weather channel or check the local paper.

Yeah, but....I really, really gotta know what the weather is gonna be at 5:00 pm on Dec. 14. And the crowds....have to know that too. How else can I pick my spot for MVMCP????? (can I get some nice sharp cheddar with that whine:p )

Hmmmmmmm..... better yet.......

It is not crowded at all during spring break, summer time, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years. It does not rain during the summer and there are no bugs. Everyone should plan their vacations around those times. Leave your ponchos at home, forget the bug spray, and bring lots of heavy clothing as it can get a little brisk during the summer months. There is hardly any humidity. Enjoy your stay. :wave2:

You know the trouble with these crowd questions? How can anyone rightly know what the crowds are going to be like on a particular day? Yeah ok public holidays, spring break, weekends will be busier than normal but how can anyone tell how busy? Just look back at October. Normally a quiet month but this year everyone said it was much busier!! You may also find some parks busier in the morning than the afternoon or vica versa!! You just can't tell. A particular week one year may be quiet then the next year it may be busy. There are lots of factors involved in how busy parks will be. I don't even think Disney or Universal can correctly predict the crowd on certain days.

LOL!!!

That was SO FUNNY!
and true!

And yes I will admit that I am totally glued to the screen when I read the "crowd" threads!!

Yep, I've just never understood the "crowds" questions. If you are planning a trip, and trying to pick a time when its not as crowded, use some common sense. My first post pretty much summed up the busiest times of the year, so pick a date out of those windows. Yet, we still get several "crowds" questions every day.

Yes, I like this advice. The more people who believe you, the less will be there for my next trip!
