We have 4 and a half days at Disney, no park hopper. I am wondering if it is worth spending a whole day at Epcot, it seems a little boring. I wasn't sure if we would have enough time to do a few things the morning our flight leaves. I think we have to leave for the airport at 1. My son really wants to do the Kim Possible spy thing. I thought it would be more fun to do MK a second day...

Since the Kim Possible missions are in the World Showcase, which does not open until 11, you would really be rushed if you have to leave by 1.

Our family LOVES Epcot, always have, even when the kids were little. My boys have always loved Innoventions, they could spend hours there. Soarin', Mission Space, Crush, the aquariums in the Living Seas, Spaceship Earth, Test Track, and wandering World Showcase have always been fun for all of us. So many of the musical acts and street performances are terrific - Off Kilter, Mo Rockin, the Jammitors, British Invasion, Chinese Acrobats, and so much more. Epcot is actually the park we revisit if we have an extra day or half day. To us there is SO much more to do than DHS, for example.

You will receive varying opinions, of course, but don't dismiss it without giving it a chance!

I'm not sure you can even do Kim Possible in three hours.

EPCOT is anything but boring. If you have to skip a park, skip DHS. If you have to skip two parks, skip AK, also. EPCOT is amazing in so many ways. Lots of fun, educational rides, thrill rides, the World Showcase, KIDCot, etc. It is worth spending a week at EPCOT, but a day or two will do.

Many people might suggest spending more than one day at EPCOT.With 4 and a half days at Disney I think you should give EPCOT a full day.EPCOT is probably the favorite or second favorite park of many people and just going in there for a couple of hours is not giving the park a good chance of enjoying it,for example Illuminations is one of the best nighttime shows anywhere.

Our daughter did the Kim Possible in France Last Year but I think you can do missions for more then one land, just that took us 45min to an hour. My husband and I have 2 days planned for Epcot for our May trip. We have been going every fall since 06 and still have not seen or done everything. Both of my kids really enjoy Epcot ages 10 & 8 we are going as family in the fall and will at least devote a whole day to Epcot plus some additional evenings as we have 3 dinners planned there.

Future world has a lot to offer and that alone can take up a better part of the day. Not sure how old your son is but you may be pleasantly surprised at what Epcot has to offer. Depending upon your son's age you should really do Turtle Talk with Crush probaly 5-12 are a really good age for it, younger ones enjoy it as well while the closer to 12 year old depending upon the kid may like it more then others.

IMHO, I think most people find AK more boring than Epcot. Even with EE (which some people don't ride) I don't know how much time we'll spend in AK. We plan to spend two whole days in Epcot though.

I know... to each his own and all. But there's LOTs to see in Epcot.

Good luck with your trip. :thumbsup2

You can go for 3 hours, but you won't get much done.

I'd skip DHS before I'd skip Epcot.

on the people in your group.

I'm personally planning on spending a full day (with nighttime emh) at EPCOT and am worrying about getting it all done. My family loves thrill rides so we have to do Test track, Soarin, and Mission Space. Never mind the rest of the Future World attractions (which we love), IMHO it takes at least 3-4 hours to see World Showcase alone. It is a beautiful (and huge) park, and unless you do your research and you really don't think you want to do any of the major atrractions or alot of the minor ones, I would plan on at least one day in the park.

PS I'm 25 and did Kim Possible with DM last year and it really opened our eyes to things that we wouldn't notice in WS. It's a must do now.

What he said.

Seriously, Epcot is DW's and my favorite park, and DD's second favorite. Beyond the fact that you won't see 10% of the park in 3 hours, you'll be missing out on some fantastic rides, dining opportunities, etc.

I also agree with the PP who said that I'd skip DHS before Epcot, but you know your family's interests better than we do, so you'll make the right call for yourselves. But you won't see much of the park in 3 hours.

"Can we do Epcot in 3 hours?"

That's just crazy talk!:upsidedow

My husband and I love Epcot. My 2 and 4 year olds loved Epcot. My mother and MIL loved Epcot. There is so much for everyone! If I were in your position, I would do 2 MK days, 1 Epcot day, 1 HS day, and the 1/2 morning at AK. We had a full week this past summer and still only spent a morning at AK-we were done with everything we wanted to do by 2.

Epcot is an amazing park for people of all ages and if you are into characters you will find several in the World Show Case. If I only had 3 hours I would probably just do the 2nd day at MK and save Epcot for when you have more time. Really it is huge and has so much to offer, I think sometimes it should have been 2 seperate parks.Kim Possible Adventure was great but from the time we got our ticket until we got our Mission was 3 hours because everyone else was also doing it. :grouphug:

I don't even really like Epcot and I am going to say there is no way you can do it in 3 hours, especially if it is your first time. You won't know what you might be interested in until you get there and it's no fun to be walking past something you really wanted to do on your way to catch a plane and come back again who knows when. Even if you look at a map and pick and choose what you want to do, Epcot is a big, spread out park and walking around alone will take a lot of time.

In a word....No.

And a few more...Not even close!

On an 8 day trip we typically spend 4 days at MK, 3 at Epcot, and 1 at DHS...we skip AK since, even on a longer trip, we'd rather not skip a day at Epcot to go to AK. There is tons to do there and it's a great park for leisurely walking and exploring. I would say AK is a 1/2 park if you just want to hit the 'highlights'.

The order of parks not to skip:

1) MK (duh)
2) Epcot
3) DHS
4) AK

Some might flip the last two, but the overwhelming majority will have 1 and 2 in the same place.

I don't think three hours is enough to do Epcot justice, it's too big and there is way too much to do. It may seem boring, but it really isn't at all. In fact, my 6 year old chose Epcot as his one park to go to when we went on our "mom and me" trip last August- even over Magic Kingdom! We typically spend at least a day and a half there on our trips and still wish we could do more.

Epcot deserves a full day. MK is our favorite followed closely by Epcot. World Showcase takes us hours to go through on it's own. You need a full day.

No, you can't do Epcot in 3 hours. We spend 7 days at WDW and devote 2 full days at MK and 2 at Epcot. DS and AK are one-day parks for most people. We spent our last park day back at DS (non-park hopping).

My daughters were 5 and 10 last summer and we expected to like AK more than DS, but we found DS much more entertaining (we are a family that loves movies). Our plan this time is two days each at MK, EP, and DS, and one day at AK. Epcot has more to offer than many people think, so I would plan one full day (or 1-1/2) on a 4-1/2 day trip. We consider Illuminations a must-see, even though it requires the hassle of leaving Epcot so late and navigating back to the exit with a massive crowd.

To some degree, these things are a matter of personal preference.

In my opinion, there is no point in even going to Epcot if you are only going to spend 3 hours, it would be a waste of the energy needed to get there. Figure you'll spend the better part of two hours getting to the park, and leaving it, only to spend 3 hours in the park. You can't even see all of Future World in 3 hours. Three hours might be enough time to tour ONE SIDE of Future World, but you aren't going to see all the details, just hit the big things and move on. You certainly won't have enough time to explore World Showcase. Three hours in the World Showcase is perhaps enough time to see one or two countries reasonably in depth. You might sneak in a third country in 3 hours if you just skim over them quickly.

If it were me, I would skip AK, and even DHS before I would consider only spending 3 hours in Epcot. On our first trip, we had two full days in Epcot, and came away feeling as though we had really missed a lot of what the park (and especially the World Showcase) has to offer. Last year, on our second trip, we spent four days in Epcot (full days, from opening to closing). We still didn't see every detail, but we came away feeling that we had seen much of what the park offers. This coming summer, we will again spend four full days in Epcot.
