Can we do Epcot in 3 hours?

Agreed with most of the posters here.

During my '07 trip I spent 2 half days in Epcot and really only covered half of both FW and WS. This next trip we plan on a half day and a full day with late EMH to try to cover the majority.

There is so much to see in WS that most people don't even realize. I would figure that with 3 hours you could do a quick tour of the park but not ride anything or ride 3 or 4 things and miss over half.

We have 4 and a half days at Disney, no park hopper. I am wondering if it is worth spending a whole day at Epcot, it seems a little boring. I wasn't sure if we would have enough time to do a few things the morning our flight leaves. I think we have to leave for the airport at 1. My son really wants to do the Kim Possible spy thing. I thought it would be more fun to do MK a second day...

Since you have 4 1/2 days and no PH - I would do each park for one full day and return to MK for your half day to do any favorite rides. I always like to end my trip with MK visit. :wizard: That way, you can experience all the parks and know for your next visit what you want to focus on.:)

The day that you do AK - I would plan for a visit to DTD or play mini-golf or just enjoy hanging out at your resort.:dance3:

I was going to say a big huge load of things, but as usual, Robo has a better answer than that. :rotfl2:

Most people (most people on the planet, I'm referring to here) could find three hours worth of things at Epcot, and I would say a great majority of people who frequent these forums could find a way to happily spend a significantly larger portion of time there. I'm not sure how someone could find Epcot boring and enjoy the other three parks. Epcot is certainly unique but it's not materially different than the other parks in terms of entertainment opportunities.

Like others have said, there is NO WAY you can do Epcot in less than a full day.

We usually spend the afternoon/evening of our arrival day there, and we also devote an entire day (open to close) there. However, it is my favorite park and could easily spend a few full days there.

Animal Kindgom can easily be toured in a few hours, so maybe that would be a better option for you.

It really depends on what you want to do, your likes & dislikes, but you really can't see much of Epcot in 3 hours, it's just so big. We sometimes spend ~3 hours in the evening there after going to AK for the day, but that's just coming in through the International Gateway, exploring ONE country pavilion thoroughly, and then finding a good spot for Illuminations.

The only park I would even try to get done in 3 hours is DHS. We don't do thrill rides, and the park is really compact, so I think we could fit in our favorites as long as we could ride TSMM at rope drop or closing (on DHs birthday we rushed in about 10 minutes before park close and RAN to TSMM to ride it.)

I think I would, as PP said, give one day to each park. Then return to whatever we liked best, or missed but looked awesome for the half day.

Whatever you decide - enjoy your trip! :hippie:

No!! Like a pp said, even if you aren't a big fan of this park it's soo big and there is soo much to do you won't know until you get there what you do and do not want to experience. If you had to pick a park to cut in half I'd say either AK or DHS, though DH and I spend full days at all four parks. GL

I suggest you wait until you get to Disney World to decide. Maybe on your arrival day - if you're not planning to go to a park- take a ride on the Epcot monorail. It goes from the ticket and Transportation Center (TTC) to Epcot. When you get to Epcot it goes INTO the park and loops around Future World before exiting and stopping at the monorail station. Getting an actual look at the park may change your mind.

I can understand your perception that Epcot doesn't sound fun. It doesn't have any major thrill rides and other "typical" theme park attractions and can seem more like a fancy museum. The reality is, it's a park unlike any other. A variety of fun, pretty landscaping, a giant lagoon, and more make it a unique experience.

Give it a chance and go in with an open mind, and you just might be surprised.

Epcot is our favorite park, we usually allow 2 days for it as there is so much to see and do between future world and world showcase. AK and DHS are our least favorites. World Showcase opens later than future world so if leaving by 1 you will miss the best part of Epcot, the countries and Illumnations in the evening are the best part !

I would do each park for a day and then leave it up to the kids as to which park they would like to go back and visit again for the last partial day to either ride things you missed or to re-ride favorites.

I wasn't a fan of EPCOT when I was younger. I wish they had as much there as they do now as they did back then. I still have the attention span and actions of a kid....we did Kim Possible when we were there. NO WAY could I have spent only 3 hours. We ended up spending at least a day and a half there total. We showed up 3 days to do different things. Yes we had Park Hopper, but there was always something different to do. World Showcase just has way too much to do. I could spend at least 3 hours in FW or WS alone.....at least!

When we first took our then two kids to Disney, we thought we wouldn't be spending much time in Epcot either.....but we ended spending two extra days there that first trip and we now regularly plan 2-3 days there each trip. I agree you can't do Epcot in 3 hours, but if that is all the time you have try to pick the few things you really want to do because the time will fly by! There is so much to do there. We spent one whole afternoon doing Kim Possible with our daughter durign the last trip I agree after MK, Epcot is our second favorite park and while we only budget part of a day -1 day for DHS and AK we always budget more for MK and Epcot.

I couldn't do Epcot in 3 hours! That's my favorite park! I most certainly would not miss Animal Kingdom either.

Now *I* (no children) would do one day at Magic Kingdom. It is a classic park and we have loads of memories of it, but I love AK and Epcot more.

Epcot would be the last park I'd skip. My boys, 12 and 9 prefer it to any other! However, if you only have 3 hours I would probably ride Soarin, Test Track and Mission Space.

I have to agree with everyone that says "No". Epcot has so much to see and do that an entire day really isn't even enough. If you want to do all the Kim Possible missions that alone can take several hours.

Have fun whatever you decide to do! :)

i could spend atleast a few days at epcot.

Personally I'd skip AK before epcot, and DHS before epcot as well.

EPCOT is my families favorite. Give it one full day. They have some really good food there. Try Teppan Edo.

For us AK is the park we skip if we have to skip one. But you have time to spend 1 day per park and that's what I'd do.

I'd do a full day at Epcot and head for MK for the morning of your departure. It will give you a few extra hours there to do your favorites again.

I love spending the morning before I leave at MK.

If it was such a boring park, no one would go there and it would not have lasted for, what, 25? 30 years? :confused3

My husband and I will be going for a long weekend in November, and we will be at Epcot for 2 of the 3 days we will be there.
