We will be there with our 3 year old twins and am wondering if I can bring some drinks in, they will be in their diaper bag? Thanks, Linda

You are technically not supposed to bring any food or drink in, but we have always gotten away with it. My wife packs a diaper bag with snacks for the kids, some juice pouches, and sodas for us and the guards never complained.

I can't stand doing it, though! Also, be aware the recent "liquid explosive" concerns could alter security procedure.

Good point about the new security threat. What we were considering is a refillable water bottle and some of those new Kool Aid to go packs. That way you just have to worry about the packets of Kool Aid and finding a water fountain to fill your bottles up.

While there 8/11 through 8/21, the security guard made the people ahead of us toss their cans of soda that were in their bookbag. I don't know if this was due to the hype since it was the 2nd day after the foiled terrorist attempt.

But, don't go by me ... this might have been hyped up security or a security guard who wasn't letting anything by or Disney rules required. I mean, we saw people w/tanning lotion and anti-bac gel (both liquids) in the parks ... so go figure.

I've never had a problem getting in with our water bottles that we bring in ourselves. :confused3 But as the others have said, you just never know!

We always bring a few cans of soda and refillable insulated water bottles, no problems. But this was before the security issues for airlines really heated up.

When we were there in Dec. '04 we brought in a small ice chest in our stroller and they checked it and never told us a thing about it. I am hoping we can do the same for our next trip

it's a bit iffy with cans. But bottled softdrinks are okay I've never had a problem

I was waiting in line to get in the park and some family had a book bag cooler full of miller lite. the guard took it all . they didn't seem happy. I was laughing under my breath.

I always see people bringing in the small collapsable coolers with some snakcs and drinks and security does not seem to mind. I have also seen people try to smuggle beer into the parks and have seen that definately confiscasted. Was at the MK a few weeks ago, and this is the first time i have seen this: I saw a family dragging one of those full size coolers with wheels. I would think security would say no to those, plus who wants to drag one of those things around the park all day anyway lol

One time I stood behind a family at security that had a rolling suitcase full of food. They were pulling out loaves of bread, jars, and drinks. They let them through with everything.

We have taken bottled drinks in before with no problem.

I can see letting the food, etc through, but the rolling suitcase? :rotfl:

From what I understand, they will not allow any coolers on wheels. However, I have always brought a small collapsible (sp?) cooler with us because I have numerous food allergies and I rather be safe than sorry. I have never had a problem bringing in any fruit, water, soda, crackers, cereal, etc. HTH

Just back yesterday and we brought in to every park a square collapsible cooler loaded with ice, soda cans, juice pouches and bottled water. No problems whatsover! The security guys/gals just sort of poked around it to make sure it was just drinks! Very convenient. It was quite heavy, but we had a stroller with a bottom basket to keep it in!

I actually got the official word on this from Disney at some point. Here it is:

Dear Brian,

Thank you for contacting WALT DISNEY WORLD!

With the exception of food items for guests with specific dietary restrictions, we do not permit guests to bring food and beverage items into our theme parks.
Generally, however, plastic bottles for water, juice, etc. are allowed.

I take the highlighted portion to indicate that what you're suggesting is fine. Anything more than that is probably a violation of the rules.

I've seen large picnics brought in. If you are going during free dining and have not made ADRs, I'd pack a lunch and bring some snacks and get dinner offsite or at CS. Its easy to bring a couple of the kids lunchboxes and toss them on the stroller. You won't be able to get in for a TS meal and the CS lines will be long at lunchtime. Younger kids need food NOW it seems and often can snack as you stroll. Save their patience for lines for rides instead of food. I don't think they will blink an eye and even think they will be more lenient during this time about food brought in since the restaurants are running at capacity. I'd still buy some ice cream and other treat items or maybe CS meals for the adults where one stands in line while the other takes kids on a ride. The kids might be much happier with a pb&j circle sandwich produced on demand than waiting for the kids meal options at CS locations.

Would it be OK for me to bring a couple of cartons of milk into the parks that I bought at POR that morning?

Otherwise it'll be hard for my DD to drink! She's only 12 months and it's about the only thing she can have...

You'd probably be allowed unless you hit a bad security guard or the middle of a crackdown. We used to follow the official policy until we saw everyone around us packing all kinds of food.
