Can someone verify new theme park?

If we put the rumor of a Legoland park coming to Orlando and Disney's present philosophy of outsourcing everything, the fifth park is obvious! It will be totally outsourced and be Legoland! Definitely a win win for Disney. ;)

Slightly OT, but if there were another park created I'd like to see it be more of an adult themed park. I was never a fan of PI, but it had (IMHO) a very good purpose of keeping the partying/drinking away from families with small children.
It would be cool to create a giant PI but with some REAL coasters!!!!!:woohoo:

Something more like Superman or Incredible Hulk. I just dont get enough thrill off TOT or ARR. And even though i LOVE Everest... It's really not that intense.
It would be nice to be able to jump in, get my adrenaline rush early in the morning, then go back to the family parks for the rest of the day.

I also agree... no more sports themed parks.

Well I of course hesitate to mention this since it did come from a bus driver!! He told my DH on a late night ride home from Epcot that Disney is indeed building a new theme park for 21 and older. It is currently under construction and it is kinda like the addition of PI with rides. Not sure of course if this is true and to be honest I was only half listening to my DH and was not there. Women get more details :rotfl:

It kinda makes sense since they shut down PI... So maybe you will get your wish.

This was just told to my DH this past week. I was going to put out a post about it and saw this one.

I also thought Disney Quest was shutting down, is that happening ever??

I wouldn't count on that one. When we were there in May we did DQ for the first time. The CM at the check-in said that the waits to get into DQ the week prior to us were 2-1/2 hours from the door!!!! He said it was a zoo, and that you couldn't move in there on ANY floor. Spring Break, Graduation, and local residents keep the place plenty busy enough is what he was saying.

Now, it was my first time there, and that's just what one guy was saying (and a female was agreeing), so I'm in no wise an authoritative answer by any means. So take for what it's worth.

I was at DQ in April. It was very busy! I doubt they would shut down such a popular, and large, place. Especially after the Virgin Megastore just closed.

I am glad to hear that. I always thought that would be dumb to do that since it is always crowded and an extra money maker with the tickets being separate from the park passes. We have some extra tickets left and hope to use them over the next few years so I hope they stay open. My DH and DS love the place! I get dizzy with all the sounds going around.

It was a real shame that quest in Chicago shut down, DQ was one of the best things about Diz for a kid a bit too old for MK but too young to bring kids and live vicariously through them... you know, tweens :p

I went to disney Quest many times when it first opened. I went back now that I have kids and was surprised to see the same main disney rides. That Aladin magic carpet ride was pretty bad 10-15 years ago. It's still pretty bad. I think disney Quest could be better if it had a new main ride added each year to replace one of these that have been there since it opened.

the rides at quest do NOTHING for me. Im mainly excited by the no-cost-to-play arcade games.

The original business plan for DisneyQuest called for locations in major cities all over the United States (and, presumably, international locations too at some point). That would have meant that the huge development costs of new attractions could be spread across many locations and recovered through revenue from all those locations.

The first DisneyQuest was at WDW. The second was in Chicago. Then Disney gave up on further expansion and closed Chicago.

The last big change to DisneyQuest was the Pirates attraction, back when Chicago was still open.

Now, with a single location, DisneyQuest is in a "steady state" mode, with no new/replacement attractions in the works. Ultimately, DisneyQuest's attractions, which rely heavily on technology, will be left in the dust as technology advances but DisneyQuest remains stagnant.

Stagnant... That's a good word to explain how I felt after riding that roller coaster simulation they have there.:rotfl2::upsidedow:upsidedow:upsidedow:upsidedow:scared::sick::sick::sick::scared:

We're a family of gamers, with about 8 game systems hooked up in the house ranging from pong to Wii, but I won't go back again. It was fun, and I'm glad I went, but it just didn't do as much for me as I had expected it would. Especially for the cost.
