Can someone post pictures of what a cricut does?

I feel totally left out 'cause I do not know what a cricut does (I mean, I know in a general, abstract way but I cannot visualize it). I'm working on my first scrapbook and am totally hooked! I have a feeling this cricut thing might be something I (although maybe not my budget!) absolutely need if only I knew what it was . . . Pictures anyone?

Yes...but not like the sizzix where you do all of the work. I simply push the button on the cricut, tell it how many I want, and it cuts. You piece it together at the end. But I swear it is easy. DD7 put together the Mulan. I put the eyes on, she did all of the rest. Cricut.com has a tutorial I think and also lots of projects that people have posted.

Well, my DS15 does his own for a school art project (well, with some mama help), also for science fair letters on the posterboard... Mom used Paper Pups for a get well soon card for one of his friends...These are just a couple of ways that mine has been used for things other than my scrapbooks.

Not to mention all the swaps that I have used it for...and card making classes, and other things like that...

I told DH there was a bigger one, that does more... I'll start dropping Xmas hints in Oct

My justification was it was universal.. the kids have used it w/ guidance from mom for school projects, and my scrapbooking!!! I've even done some things for some of the teachers at school already this year!!!!

123SA, how is the princess cartridge? Are you pleased with your purchase or are they hard to do. I know you said your dd did Mulan but what about the other ones?

I love my bug...it really makes things easier (thanks again to Susan for helping me get some carts!)...any picture that has multiple pieces needs to be put together - it's not hard but can be time consuming if it's cut real small. But honestly...save all those pennies and get yourself one if you can (or be naughty!) but get yourself one as it really does save time (not money as you'll want all the carts!)

I found one on sale at ac moore this week and the sale ends tomorrow so I am going to run to the 2 SC moores and see if I can buy it.

I have not had time to play. We leave soon for 12 days in Disney and DH is not home this week to help pack. He did tell me I was not allowed to stay home from WDW to play with my cricut!

There are quite a few shapes similar to Mulan as far as piecing goes. Also, lots of geat accessory pieces. Plus, I do have the expression so I'll be cutting them out at bigger sizes. I don't think will regret this purchase.

I really love the dinos. My son is a dino freak. Cant really buy one now but maybe I will put in on my christmas wish list
