Going to Magic Kingdon this August, for the day. We are staying overnight the night before at a friend's house that is about 35 minutes away.

Park is open at 9AM. We need to get there to rent my MIL a scooter, which are first come first serve.

What time do you suggest getting to the park. We will have hadnicap parking as well.

It has been some time since our last trip and I can't remember if you park, then take monrail and then go to ticket area and scooter rental.

Thanks!

You will park, then monorail or ferry to MK itself, then through the bag check & gates before you get to the wheelchair/scooter/stroller rental. I'd plan on being parked NO LATER than 8AM, possibly even 7:30.

I agree that shooting to pull into parking about 7:30am.

there is still a walk from handicap parking to the monorail. there are usually wheelchairs to use. There will be the uphill ramp to the monorail as well as to get out of the parking lot to the monorail.
I would give yourself more time depending on how fast every one can/can't move.

Considering you are staying off site, don't go on an Extra Magic Hours morning.

1. The ferry and express monorail might not be running until about 8:30 AM. You might be denied use of the other monorail without proof of restaurant reservation at a resort on the monorail loop.

2. The park (here, Magic Kingdom) will tend to be more crowded compared with a non-EMH morning day.

We are meeting other family members that are staying in Disney for the week, so we are stuck going whatever day they choose.

Thank you. She can do the short walks, just not the park all day.

You can purchase tickets before getting to the Monorail/Ferry loading area. There are numerous ticket booths there. If for some reason you don't get them there, you should be able to purchase them at Guest Services (far right AFTER bag check).

I suggest however utilizing UnderCoverTouris if you need at least three days worth of tickets.

if yoy have someone in your group who can push a wheelchair, use one of transport chairs in front of parking to get you to the front gate of MK. parking for MK, is one of worst at WDW. one of longest walks from lot to transportion to the park. steep ramp to monorail and down at the park and i do not remember benches to wait for ferry. very little seating at least on lower level of ferry. you will need too ride on or the other to get to park. plus you will have to get thru bag check and turnstiles before you can rent scooter and no can not send someone in to rent and bring outside gate for another to ride. counting the walk from car can take up to an hour to get in to the park depending on crowd size. at end of night you will have to take monrail or ferry back to car, depending on crowds can have a wait.

1. The monorail and ferries start running an hour prior to park opening from the TTC. It would be very unusual if they started at 8:30. I have yet to hear of anyone who was denied boarding without proof of an ADR.

2. Any park will be more crowded on an EMH morning, but sometimes you can't do anything about what day you visit. It certainly wouldn't deter me.
