Can someone help me with info. on the MNSSHP?

I am trying to get a bit more info. on the MNSSHP for a friend of mine. I tried a search, but most of the info. was not too detailed. It sounds like there arent too many other things besides trick-or-treating and a parade, fireworks. For the MVMCP I read they have lots of shows, parade, fireworks, hot chocolate, cookies, pictures. Can anyone who has been to the Halloween Party give me a bit more of specific information? Thanks so much.

It's been TOO LONG since our last trip, so other people may have more recent memories, but the "special" things I remember about MNSSHP from 2 years ago were the parade (with the characters dressed in THEIR Halloween Costumes), special fireworks, lots of trick-or-treating "stations" (and they hand out T-or-T bags at the front gate), special lighting and Halloween decorations, and a free group picture. There weren't any special "shows" as far as I can remember, but other than that, it sounds fairly similar to what you've read about MVMCP.

We love MNSSHP! Our goal is to go every year, although unfortunately we had to miss last year. For us, honestly the best part about it is just the fact that they limit the number of tickets sold, so you can pretty much walk on to all the attractions, walk up to the characters, etc., without waiting in lines. Plus, many (most?) people -- kids AND adults -- wear costumes, so that's a fun part as well! (People come up with some really creative costume ideas, so it's a GREAT night for people-watching!)

I plan to buy the costume and go as Captain Hook and DW will be Tinkerbell. DD10 will be going as Wendy and DS2 will be going as Peter.

We went last year and once many years ago. This past year we had the special parade and fireworks, awesome decorations/lighting, free group photo, LTT had the character dining with the characters in costume, trick or treating, scads of characters dressed for Halloween. The characters were also handing out candy at some points too, especially the Alice in Wonerland Characters, Spooky storytelling. We sat in on one and it was great. Merlin the Magician was the teller. Now mind you this past year I traveled with our then 16 month old son and I left early to put him to bed and my mom and sister stayed with my DD. I probably missed a few things too.
I know when we went years ago we got sugar cookies and cidar but I didn't notice it this year. They also had costume judging and pumpkin carving.
It is great fun and well worth every penny we spent. HTH!

No it doesn't have quite as much going on as MVMCP but that's why its cheaper than MVMCP.

MNSSHP is the only place to find Halloween decorations around WDW. It's amazing the transformation that happens from about 4:00p to 7:00p.

The parade alone is worth the price of admission. Then there is the trick or treating which my kids love. Then there's the rides with smaller lines than during the day. There's the fireworks with the witch flying down.

There's storytelling.

There's lots more characters out for this then during the day and they're in Halloween costumes.

The Castle and Main Street are amazing those nights with the lighting and decorations.

The music pipped in just adds to the atmosphere.
