I am very confused about the Wolf Gang Puck dinning. I thought there was the cafe, the express, and then an upscale restaurant. Is this correct? If so, is the upscale restaurant nice?
There is the WP Cafe, which is the downstairs part. It's a casual table service restaurant.
Then there is the upstairs dining room, a slightly more formal table service restaurant. They take reservations, whereas the cafe does not. I haven't been to it though, so I can't tell you how nice it is.
Then there are 2 WP Express locations - the counter service versions. One is in the same building as the Cafe/Dining Room on the West Side of DTD. The other WPE is located in the Marketplace section of DTD.
Well--it's sort of "nice" in that there are fewer kids than downstairs. But if you'll check the menus, it isn't a place that would really knock your socks off. And it really isn't much more formal than downstairs--t shirts, shorts and jeans are all perfectly acceptable.
Some tables have a nice view of the water, if that means anything.
Mrs U likes it more than I do---
We've been 3 times and I have been successful these last several years in avoiding a fourth!!
We have eaten in the upscale dining room upstairs and were very impressed with the food and service, however it is not on the dining plan. The next time we went, we took the kids to the cafe downstairs, less formal but still great. I think the food was even better and the servers were amazing. My kids ordered an appetizer that came with pita chips and they really didn't like it, so they made fresh tortilla chips and brought them out to them. I call that great service! We are planning to go in August and that is a must eat place in all our books!! I don't think you can go wrong with that as a meal choice.

I'm with Uncleromulos; I think the Dining Room upstairs is okay, better than the Cafe, but there are much better places at WDW to get a more upscale meal.
