Can someone compare/contrast Rose and Crown with Finnegans

Haven't eaten at either and think trying both this trip would be overkill. Which is better and why?

Finnegans has awesome food, awesome bartenders, and a happy hour. I like their menu better also.

Rose & Crown has better entertainment but the food is not as good.

I pick Finnegans and do every trip at least once.

Maybe have a look at the menus for each.

We've eaten at Rose and Crown and been less than impressed---the food was very overcooked. We haven't eaten at Finnegan's other than for dessert.

i have eaten at both places many times.


hands down, Finnegans was superior to Rose and Crown.
food at Finnegans was cheaper, more variety and better tasting to me.

the bangers and mash i had at both places.
it was the world of difference between the 2.

finnegans was better by a mile.

i have better and quicker service at finnegans than at R & C.

Thanks for the feedback. I had made an ADR at Rose and Crown for dinner to try to see Illuminations from patio, but food is less expensive and sounds better at Universal. The term happy hour doesn't even exist at WDW. Wow! Maybe we should change plans!

Happy hour AND 10% off AAA??? I'm sold. How do I find out which restaurants give an AAA discount? The AAA website only showed a few Citywalk restaurants. Thank you all so much. DIS is the absolute best!!!!

Hmmm... I like Rose and Crown so I guess that I'm an oddball. If you want to see Illuminations, I'd keep the adr. I see nothing wrong with going to both though.

Guess I need to ask about the discount everywhere we go. Does it apply to onsite hotels too? We're staying at the Dolphin at WDW and they give a 20% discount at all restaurants except their signatures. Good tip Plano Girl. I'll keep the ADR in case we want to do both.

Aaa discount is only at Universal/IOA and at the Swan / Dolphin restaurants

I like both. I love the curried chicken at the Rose and Crown, it's nice and spicy! I see nothing wrong with going to both.

If it weren't for these boards, I wouldn't have even known about the AAA discounts. They don't advertise them much. Swan and Dolphin had AAA rates for rooms on their website, but not HRH. I had to call.

When you go to Universal, make sure you show the AAA card everywhere...the worst they can say is no. Most restaurants and stores in the parks and CityWalk (with a few exceptions) will allow the discount so show it!

I would go to both.
We usaully eat and hang out at Finnegans and grab a drink at the bar at R&C. R&C is usually very crowded but if there is a seat available it's a great place to hang out. At night you can catch the hat lady - she's terrific.

I like both, but if I was going to do only one, it would definitely be Finnegans. I love their Irish Cobb Salad and service is always great (plus they're cheaper--lol).
