Can someone compare BWV to SSR for teens for me?

We have been to BWV many times (we own there) and I know it is a great place for teens. We plan to let my son take several of his friends with us next year for spring break, should be about 5 - 6 high school seniors with me and DH. From what I've read, it seems like SSR might be worth a try due to the activities offered there and the proximity to DTD. Would anyone like to give their input? Is it worth a try or should we stay put at BWV? Thanks!

If you are willing to let them go to Pleasure Island, it's terrific for teens. They seem to love Disney Quest, too, and Virgin Music, and the movie theatre is there in case of rain. DTD has lots to do for kids around 18, as long as you can trust them not to abuse their freedom. :smokin: :drinking1

My friends and I all took our sons when they were high school seniors. We stayed at VWL, but the kids spent all their time at the Boardwalk and DTD. Either place would be great.

We have stayed at BCV and SSR and as much we as LOVE BCV  , my DD (20) preferred SSR because she and her friends could walk to DTD from our room (she was 18 at the time). It is a toss up, but I would bet the teens would like SSR a tiny bit more.

Have fun! :goodvibes

Another vote for teens and DTD. There is a ton of stuff for teens to enjoy at DTD. I don't think that EPCOT and the Boardwalk area will hold quite the same appeal at that particular age.

Another vote for SSR. We stayed at SSR and BWV in Aug and my teens MUCH prefered SSR. BWV is" upscale "compared to DTD and they were too young to get into many places. Also, they really enjoyed Community Hall.

Just in case not everyone knows this , but both SSR and BWV have Community Halls.

Boston5602, sorry, i should have said they enjoyed Community Hall at SSR ( I don't think they even visited BWV's ) BTW, we are from central Mass, LOVE your Romney ticker

My kids (13, 17,19, 21) by far prefer SSR. They love the easy access to DTD.

I love BWV and BCV. This is the adult corner of the world. But it is the adult corner of the world; I've never met a teen yet who doesn't prefer DTD to the Boardwalk. I can see the appeal of Disney Quest, Virgin Megastore, & the AMC Theater for them. That is quite a lot to do. If your teens are theme park junkies, they might prefer BWV because of the proximity to MGM and Epcot, but MGM takes longer to get to from BWV than SSR anyway (it may not seem that way, but in my experience, it is probably 10 minutes faster by bus from SSR than boat or walking from BWV). Epcot is a lot more convenient, but teens seem to prefer TOT and RNR to M:S and TT. (Based on my experience this week, AK may be beating both of those now; Saturday AK was crawling with teens, but MGM was empty.)

I could see teens preferring DTD over the Boardwalk also. The Boardwalk is high end restaurants, and Midway games. They do open the carts at night for food, but for someone that cant get into Jellyrolls, there would be little to do on the Boardwalk.

DTD also has McDonalds, Ghiardelli's Ice Cream shoppe, a multiplex cinema, the Virgin Megastore, concerts at HOB, Disney Quest etc.
If I were a teen, I would choose DTD. :goodvibes It's more like a mall.

DTD can be quite a trip if relying on busses, especially from the Boardwalk area, where the busses are shared during off peak hours.

OK, you have all convinced me to try for SSR! Now I just hope I would be able to get in at 7 months. I'll book a 2 BR and studio at BWV at 11 months just in case. I know this would be nearly impossible during Easter week, but I wonder what my chances would be of a GV? Slim to none I'm sure! A 2 BR and studio would do just fine - but a GV would be so awesome! Thanks to all for your input! :wave2:

I'm a bit late, but I'm not sure I would not want my teens (depending how old they are) walking the adult venues (relatively speaking) of Boardwalk. I think SSR would be the most rewarding and sensible for teens.

I also am a bit late, but perhaps a poll on the teen board. I have asked questions there and have found them extremely helpful. I always identify myself as a mom of 3 teens.
I'm sure all the teens in your group will enjoy it either way.
