Can points change without notice??!!!

I am trying to rent points from a WONDERFUL DVC Member. When he called, DVC told him the points for my room had gone up because the cheap views were gone. I wanted a studio at VWL in June from Sunday-Wednesday. It shows 14 points for each night on the calculator and the point chart. It does not give view choices on that particular resort room at all. DVC said the points were going to be 56 instead of 42 because the "cheap" views were gone. He is just as puzzled as I am. Anyone had this problem before?

Seems like your member is confused...for the VWL it is 42 points for 3 nights and 56 points for 4 nights. Maybe your point rentor thinks you are checking out on Thursday and not on Wednesday...Just a possibility.

not with out telling us in advance.

besides when they changed OKW (DVC in 95???) it causes so many complaints that they would have to have a good reason to change again.

the membership has growth - a whole, whole lot.....

There has been a misunderstanding or miscommunication somewhere.

There is no such thing as "cheap" views at VWL - they are all the same cost. As mentioned, BWV is the only DVC resort with a two tiered point system based on views.

We would have all been informed of any point changes for this year long before now so that definitley did not happen!

Call the member back and make sure you both understand what you want. It is also possible that the CM the owner spoke to at Member Services didn't understand, either. (There are several new people there).

DVC Member and I had miscommunication about length of stay. Thanks for the advice! I LOOOOVE renting points! Deluxe resort at moderate price--How can life get any better than this!!

14 pts a nt for SUN/WED check-out WED = 42 pts

for the other 14 pts added to make 56 you got another nt added.

If not they made a mistake because you can't divide your 3 nts into 14 pts and get an equal amount for each night to make 56 pts for 3 nts.
