Hi ya'll! :wave2:

We will be at the BC next month, because we have one more park left on our pass..EPCOT.

So, I was wondering, can our 5 year old ride Soarin'? He is very little (about the size of a 3-4 year old). I actually don't think he can do it...but I just wondered from other parents, your thoughts.

Even if he is tall enough, I am thinking it might be "scary" for him?

Thanks!

Yes he can! My DH took my 3 year old DS (who's 40 1/4" tall, lol) and he LOVED it!! Talks about "flying" all the time!

I would definately say GO FOR IT!! There really isn't anything scary about Soarin'. As long as he hits the height requirement you really should try it. My four year old is in LOVE with this ride, definately one of his favorites.

My 6 year old LOVED it! He is actually a little bit scared of a lot of rides but loved, loved, loved this one!

Have fun!

it's not scary - it's soothing and magical. if he's 40" run don't walk to soarin!!!

my DD3.5 and DS5 rode it 5x and adored it!

My 4 year old Dgd love it this Sept. She wanted to ride all the time and she is a little afraid of some rides. This is the best ride. My DH and I cannot wait for Feb to go back on it. I think 40" is the height requirement and DGD just made it :flower:

If he meets the height requirements, definitely try it!!!

Last year, our 3-year old (almost 4) son loved it!!! Our DD (then 5) loved it as well - and she is kind of nervous when it comes to "big" rides. She was nervous & a little frightened when the ride started, but, as soon as she saw everything was "okay", she was absolutely fine.

It's not scary at all.

Our son, who is on the small side as well, just met the height requirement. And, if I remember correctly, there is a special strap that you can hook to the seatbelt that runs between smaller children's legs.

DD (4) loved in August. We had to do it 4 times. As busy as it was we went 4 times. I think you should give it a shot.

Yes!!

At the very beginning, the seats move forward for a moment to get into position, and it could feel as if it will be a moving ride throughout, but you stop and then stay in one place. I'd just mention that to him first.

My four year old niece HATED Soarin'. She still talks about how much she did not like it. My six year old nephew, however, loved it. We rode it three times together.

One thing I wish I had thought of for my niece: you could tell your son that if he is scared it is OK to close your eyes. The gliders have a very gentle motion, he would not be dizzy or anything if he closed his eyes--it was the sensation from the film that my niece reacted poorly to.

It is really hard to determine what bothers someone based on age. Many kids will ride this attraction and love it and many adults, myself including, will be in misery the entire time and can't wait for it to end so one can never get on it again. I have never felt so near to being sick in my life.

We took are 3 year old on it in Oct and he loved it. He was that sure of it at first but one it got going he loved. He is still talking about it to this day about it. We will be going on it again when we go to disney in Nov 06.

Yes let him. Soarin is outstanding. :wizard:

Yup, definatly try it. My 3 yr old who just barely made the height requirement adored this ride! She still asks almost daily to go flying again.

According to the books, 42" is the height requirement. He'll do fine if he meets the height requirement! It's a not to be missed ride!

My 5 year old loved it! Rode it multiple times on our last trip, and can't wait to ride it again in April.

My DS4 loved this ride. If he is nervous about heights, do not sit in the first row. The back row does not go up as high.

My DD4 just made the hieght in December. She loved the ride and rode it twice. The way the seats are I reached over and held her hand the first time. I don't think it will be a problem.
