Can more than one person use an annual pass?

the last 3 times we've been to a WDW park they haven't used the biometric, you'd swipe your pass and walk right in. sea world and busch gardens have been doing the same. universal doesn't have the bio, because your picture is on your AP. I'm not suggesting anyone try to use someone else's pass, we've just hadn't had to do the finger thing lately. kind of weird.

Not sure what days you went, but we have had to do the biometric scan each and every time we go to Busch Gardens and each park at WDW. This is all within the past 60 days (been in a theme park mood lately with the great weather) :)

1) I simply cannot fathom the reasoning of cheaters!
2) They try to scam WDW as much as possible.
. . . locals buying Florida Resident tickets for out-of-state relatives
. . . transferring previously purchased tickets
. . . trying to get others to use their annual passes
. . . putting extra kids or adults into the resort rooms

3) If WDW scammed them, they would be plenty upset.
4) But they don't mind scamming WDW.
5) Isn't greed and dishonesty a wonderful thing ???!!!

I know that this is OT, but how can a FL resident purchase for Out of towners. My DIL bought her tickets and was able to use her FL residency for a discount, however, she tried to get the discount for my DS, who had not changed his driver license, and could not. Of all of the reasons to get aa valis state license, he actually was convinced because he had to pay full price for his passes. :confused3

Dh and I have been to the parks 8 weekends in the last year, and have always been scanned. It's interesting that your experience has been different! Maybe you go at busier times.

The machine very often doesn't "read" my fingers correctly. Only once, late afternoon at Epcot, was I asked for ID. Just a few weeks ago, the machines at Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom didn't work, and the CMs just let me in. Didn't even ask for ID, which I had.

And they sure as heck can't ask a child for ID.

One time at MK the machines just plain wouldn't turn on, and they just let everyone in after about 15 minutes.

I don't know that people are successful at it but there are plenty of posts of people trying to figure out a way to do it.

Yup. It is the force that drives the world. If it weren't for greed, Disney would shut its doors. But, they want to make money, the evil men. If it weren't for greed, the pharmaceutical companies would stop making the drugs that save our lives, the rotten scoundrels.

If it weren't for greed the whole world would come to a screetching halt and we'd all end up living outside.

Not only is greed a wonderful thing, it is a necessary thing.

...dishonesty is just a by-product. No good businessman expects honesty from everyone he deals with. Bad businessmen, sure--part of the reason they don't do well or fail alltogether. But not good ones. Disney would not be shocked to hear that there are people who would get in for free if they could. Duh! That's why the parks are so hard to sneak into.

...Putting on my flame suit. :furious:

No flames as you're partly right. However, if everyone who contemplated these 'little' scams got away with it, ticket prices would go through the roof. I already pay for shoplifters, I don't particularly want to pay for someone to share an AP/Hopper/whatever if I don't have to. Greed works both ways and the system needs both to keep working...... :)

If I can't afford it, I don't do it. If I can afford it, it won't kill me. Old fashioned to think I might forgo something just because I couldn't afford it or simply didn't want to pay for it. :rotfl2:

You already are paying for those who try ticket scams, or at least, you're paying for Disney's campaign to eliminate those scams.

Ya think those biometric readers at every turnstile in the parks came cheap? Whataya think Disney has raised ticket prices for the last few years. :rolleyes1

LOL. True enough and I do realize that. I just don't want to volunteer to pay for MORE cheating. :sunny:

Maybe everyone should just be honest and post:

Hey, I wanna go for free. Y'all don't mind chipping in to pay my way, do you? :rotfl2:

A business working to make profit for its shareholders isn't exhibiting "greed." Greed must necessarily be "excessive" -- must be working to gain "more than one deserves". Businesses that follow the law aren't pursuing anything "excessive" nor "more than one deserves."

Not every business has shareholders. It is my understanding that business owners want to make more money and get more business so THEIR family has more. We all have opinions don't we? :teeth:

As for people trying to get away with things...I think most everyone does it, we just all have different lines we won't cross. For example, how many people buy one soda, ask for no ice and then ask for a second empty cup or a second cup with ice in it? Is that considered stealing? Needed two sodas but only paid for one. What about people cutting in line? Stealing someone else's time aren't they? I don't agree with what the OP wanted to do, but I am not in charge nor am I here to judge them. It's our job to answers questions and offer advice. Period. :goodvibes

People need to stop trying to make themselves feel better about themselves or their lives by trolling around boards and attempting to be the "moral police". There would be alot less bickering around here. :)

I will not tell someone else what to do, but I know that I need to look at myself every day, and try very hard not to "cross the line". I don't lie, cheat, or steal. I don't take ANYTHING that is not mine, and that includes someone else's place inline. I do not think that I am any better thatn anyone else, but I can tell you that I really do not think that I am the reason that prices are higher anywhere. NO ONE compensates for any unethical behavior of mine. I also think that I can have an opinion in regards to what I believe is "cheating" if I am respectful of others, it does not mean I am trying to be the Morals police, I am simply responding to a thread, and I would hope that that does not make me a Troll. Once again, I really don't lose sleep over any other person's behavior, but I do think that there are times I am affected in one way or another.

I totally agree with this statement and have an additional comment.

Our family all has annual passes and were staying in the same resort. My parents took all the passes for us while we went swimming. The next day, the took our AP's instead of their own. They didn't realize they had done this until we called them looking for our passes. They had gone into AK & Epcot both with our passes without knowing. They used the finger scan @ both parks and they worked just like their own.

I wonder how well the finger scan really works, or if it works better as a deterrent?

You don't really believe that theft is the ONLY reason prices rise and continue to rise do you? I imagine insurance costs WDW more, GAS costs everyone more, etc etc etc. I think it is pretty small minded to assume all prices rise because of theft. For example, I noticed just a few days ago, that the same meal we always buy at a certain counter service restaurant in Epcot has gone up by $4 for the exact same items. Is that because too much food has been stolen? I don't think so. :lmao:

I think it's wonderful that you have such high morals. I really do! Fabulous! I commend you. :thumbsup2 BUT, if you come here and judge people (not sure if you do or not) than my earlier post applies to you. If you don't, then the post wouldn't apply to you. :goodvibes

I don't know, but someone on another thread mentioned that a group's tickets may be tied together in the computer so that, say, a family of 6 who have mixed up their tickets can get in without spending half an hour figuring out which unmarked ticket is which. I have no idea what the limitations of that are.......

Which is still not greed.

There is merit on that, but it is also a very convenient refrain for folks trying to rationalize anti-social behavior. The bottom-line is that there is no real defense for cheating companies by exploiting their reluctance to impose heavy-handed enforcement of terms and conditions. This is so much so the fact that moderators often remind us that it is against DIS policy to post about cheating Disney here.
