Can more than one person use an annual pass?

Which is still not greed.

greed ( P ) Pronunciation Key (grd)
n.
An excessive desire to acquire or possess more than what one needs or deserves, especially with respect to material wealth: “Many... attach to competition the stigma of selfish greed” (Henry Fawcett).

More than what you NEED.......is greed.

I am not going to debate the whole business vs. private citizen argument with you...we could go on all night and then some. ;)

I personally do not think not allowing self righteous people to tell you how to behave is really anti-social behavior. Ouite the opposite really. I think running around telling everyone how they should act is very anti-social.

The boards are for information, not parenting lessons, judging others or their morals or trying to figure out how to rip ANYONE off. :goodvibes

Yup. It is the force that drives the world. If it weren't for greed, Disney would shut its doors. But, they want to make money, the evil men. If it weren't for greed, the pharmaceutical companies would stop making the drugs that save our lives, the rotten scoundrels.

If it weren't for greed the whole world would come to a screetching halt and we'd all end up living outside.

Not only is greed a wonderful thing, it is a necessary thing.

...dishonesty is just a by-product. No good businessman expects honesty from everyone he deals with. Bad businessmen, sure--part of the reason they don't do well or fail alltogether. But not good ones. Disney would not be shocked to hear that there are people who would get in for free if they could. Duh! That's why the parks are so hard to sneak into.

...Putting on my flame suit. :furious:

Whose greed is good? If it's good for one, it's good for all.

If you are joking, well then yes, it IS funny. But if you are serious...is greed good when someone takes advantage of you?

Oh really? Not for judging others? Then I would suggest you stop sending PM's to people with your opinions. Take a look in the mirror. You seem to be an awfully hard judge of people who do have morals and standards.

OK, I'm a child of the 80s. But that is one of the few 80s movies I never got around to seeing - that and Platoon and Rambo. (I saw Adventures in Babysitting three times, so does that kinda make up for it?)

But I always, even as a teen, liked that quote.

No, of course not. But if I go through life expecting that nobody will try to take advantage of me, then I'm an easy mark. I always try to get the best end of ANY deal, and I assume that the other guy is trying to get the best end for himself. I don't hold that against him, for crying out loud.

To quote Tom Hanks in "You've Got Mail," just keep repeating it to yourself when you feel your resolve slipping -- "It's business. It's not personal. It's business."

I'm not talking about people you love, or friends or anything like that.

Who defines an acceptable level of one persons needs?? Sounds like you favor the communist system.

THAT was my point exactly! WHO exactly defines greed?

I got mine from Dictionary.com What in the heck does communism have to do with anything? Have you read the whole thread or just skimmed through it? Seriously. Another poster and I were discussing the definition of greed.

Once again, I am not exactly sure what your comments mean. As for the PM, YOU addressed me first in another thread that was closed and I responded to you in PM form. Period. It had nothing at all to do with this thread.

As for you implying that I personally do not have morals or standards........I find that to be a personal attack and against the rules. The rules that people with morals and standards DO NOT break. :rolleyes2

Please. :lmao: Seriously, what is your problem with people who aren't afraid to state they have morals and standards and what they are? Judging from your posts, it seems to bother you a lot? Why is that?

Allison, this is as clear as I can make it. Morals and values are completely different for different people.. I don't have a problem with YOUR morals or values. I have a problem when people try to make others conform to and agree with theirs. It's really very simple.

People state that they have morals and values ALL the time. Just because they say it, doesn't really mean that anyone else would know it by their behavior. See?

People need to stop trying to make themselves feel better about themselves or their lives by trolling around boards and attempting to be the "moral police". There would be alot less bickering around here. :)[/QUOTE]

AMEN!

Hmmm....so you weren't trying to judge someone else when you posted on another thread "shame, shame, shame" in response to their statement?

You seriously need to stop harrassing me. AND once again, you apparently did NOT READ the entire statement. I supposed we were seeing the ugly side to WDW and THAT is a shame. :sad2:

You already are paying for those who try ticket scams, or at least, you're paying for Disney's campaign to eliminate those scams.

Ya think those biometric readers at every turnstile in the parks came cheap? Whataya think Disney has raised ticket prices for the last few years. :rolleyes1

Excellent point, which is why when I try to make a point in these types of threads that doing the right thing is best for Everyone, some are: "like you worry about you and not me". But when Disney has to change policy to prevent abuses then it does affect me and my pocket book.

It's also the reason mug prices have almost doubled what they use to be.

I agree.

While your point is valid I just wanted to point out that the biometric scanners at every turnstile were actually installed way back in 1996. They have been there for a decade now.

Yes. You make a very valid point. I don't know how many times I have pointed out to my DH that a new rule has emerged and it's because people were trying this: (fill in the blank). I agree that scammers cause everyone to suffer in one way or another. However, I also think that prices would go up no matter what. Theft and scams can't be blamed for every price increase although they do account for many of them.

Not sure what days you went, but we have had to do the biometric scan each and every time we go to Busch Gardens and each park at WDW. This is all within the past 60 days (been in a theme park mood lately with the great weather) :)

AK this morning, we scanned. MGM later in the afternoon, not scanned. machine went from red to green. and MGM was DEAD. BG and Seaworld, we haven't used the scanners in the last 3 months during the week or on a sunday. we don't go to any park during peak times that would be insane, we do other activities. I guess we're special. :)

but I disagree with the mug pricing debate. mug prices have doubled while the cost of syrup and water under contract by coke is less than the cost of dust. there's a reason you can't buy a pepsi product ANYWHERE on WDW property. the mug hikes are pure greed on WDW's part. they're the only property here that doesn't have a refillable mug program in the parks (save for AK). that is liquid gold for WDW. ;)
