Can I waitlist something for part of my trip?

We are booked 2bd OKW from Dec 18-26th. I've been calling to see about availabilty at BLT or WL and wondering if I can waitlist for only half the trip. So if I wanted to waitlist BLT and WL from 18-21 and then just keep the rest of the trip at OKW. We want to try different resorts and figured a WL for part of it would be better then the whole thing since I have been trying since 9am on our 7month mark to get something at either of them.

I just did something similar.

I had a res. at BLT (that I booked at 7 mos.) for 7 nights. Due to flight costs, I shifted my days a bit at the 4 month mark. I was able to keep 5 of my original days at BLT, booked the 3 previous days at SSR and waitlisted those same 3 days at BLT.

If it doesn't work out, I can handle the split-stay, but I'd prefer not to move! (But don't want to give up BLT!)
