Can I use old magic bands

I have a set of magic bands from a May 2014 trip to Disney. I've read that if I stay off site that I can purchase magic bands for $12.95 each. Can I bring old magic bands and have them activated on site?
Is a 30 window on picking fast passes enough to give me most options that I want.

Your existing MagicBands will work fine. Assuming they are already attached to your MDX account, there is no additional activation required.
